I too think you can make a legit argument for "All of the Above". I'll take them one at a time.

Cousins: Every team can look back at a missed field goal or dropped TD pass in October. The bottom line is if we beat a Giants team with nothing to play for at home we are in. The defense did their job, Kirk blew it with a late pick with the season on the line and an overall performance that just wasn't good enough.. On this list I would put him last in ranking the culprits but this is my only reservation about Kirk, does he have the big game gene?

Hopkins: I was against cutting Kai because I felt a dependable field goal kicker was worth the short kickoffs. Last year Hopkins made me look like a fool. But with the new rules deep kickoffs are no longer needed. In fact with the defenders now 5 yards closer we have seen that the most effective techniqueis to kick it just short of the goal line and force the return. Last year Forbath was 15 for 15 of FGs.

Joe Barry: No elaboration necessary. He has never been a good DC.

SM: I'll say it again, I still believe in our GM. But the truth can not be ignored The vast majority of his free agents have simply not worked out and the last two drafts have been disapointing to date. For a man who has a huge reputation for drafting hits he needs to find more Crowders. However it's crazy to criticize the Doctson pick because we had Garcon njd Djax, as we know both could be gone. SM has had 2 years to improve the defense and it has gotten worse. And that's not all on Joe Barry.

An option for all of the above was more than justied to be a choice on that survey an d it should've been there. As every option listed fucked up big time on multiple ocassions during the course of the season.

Every answer thus far has been completely off base. This team is exactly where they should be, making the playoffs would have been a bonus just as it was the season before. If anyone needs to hold blame, it's everyone who thought that they were better than they proved to be.

For the record prior to the season, I had them at 7-9 or 8-8 in the predictions thread, forget what my Avatar is doing, but that assessment was pretty damn close.

Disagree with every answer being completely off-base. Only because a poster can only go by what he feels, not what another poster feels. It's all good that you think the Skins are right where they should be. I don't feel that way though. I had them going 10-6 at worst and imo they should've accomplished that. And I was under no illusions about the defense. I thought it would be crap, but I do think coaching could've and should've been better defensively speaking. I expected more from both the offense and Hopkins though straight up.

Now I havd no problem saying you took the pulse of the team better than I did so right on for the right on far as that goes. But as I sit here looking at this article. Sigh, yeah, I still think the Skins should've came away from the season with 10 wins....at least 10 wins................real tho.

I was on Cobra Kai bandwagon as well, and 15/15 is unassailible. You cvan ot fucl with 100% I do wonder why he's on his 2nd team and hias yet to play a full season with ateam since his Redskin days. Speaking of which if you include his 2 FG atts in DC in 2015. Kai has attempted exactly 15 FGs each year for the last 3 years. and over that time he's a not so impresswive 45 att/35 made, 84 XP att/ 79 XP made.

His KOs still look to be lagging Of his 38 KOs in 2016. 17, almost half, were returned and looking at stats of other kickers. That's subpa.. And his KOs were not only short much of the time, they were also line drives making them the most prefered KOs to return. He does have two 57 yd FGs to his credit for you guys who thoiught he couldn't kick long FGs. Which by the way is 3 yards longer than the longest FG Hopkins has made in the NFL.

Ok, fair point.....IF.......we want to replace actual with "should"or "could." I don't intend to disparage folks with hope, it's always good to have it in life, but when it comes to this team, and year after year after year of doing the same thing myself, I have learned to see them stripped down into their true essence.

Hope is something this evil bitch I'm in love with, but can't stand. Delights in snatching away from me time and time again.

How soon people forget. Sure there were some disappointments last season & things could have been better & perhaps this team should be further along rt now. However - this is way, way better than previous offseasons that included cap issues, lack of draft picks, coaching problems, off field issues, etc, etc, etc.

At least now they have some stability, a full contingent of draft picks for the foreseeable future, a few years of not losing, a decent amt of talent & likely stability at QB. Things could be a heck of lot worse.
