Where'd you hear this? Our class was pretty much done before NSD, so we didn't add anybody or lose anybody that I'm aware of.

There were over 900 decommits over this recruiting cycle according to 247. Let that sink in.

Recruiting is a 3 ring circus.

As for "owning" NSD?
Yeah USC knocked it into the parking lot on this one. Straight up hulk smash mode on the Pac 12. JFC.
If anyone "owned it" it's them. The only reason is Darnold brought them back from the dead. None of these guys they signed today had USC on their radar 5 months ago. USC is fucking loaded. They'll be kings of the Pac 12 again very soon.

Only an Oregon fan would be happy with a class ranked #20 and some Florida 3 stars.

So Michigan wins on February, Michigan state wins in the fall. Seems like a nice trade off for the two schools.

I'm not sure how Taggert 'knocked out it of the park", when I've heard on ESPN & CBS, that Alabama's class this year may be the best....ever. 247 has made similar claims.

I'm not saying it's true or anything, but going to Oregon where you have some of, if not the, nicest facilities, it's really 'killing it'.

Not Maryland, who ended up 18th...that's probably the most impressive team this year in recruiting.

On another note, looking at 247's Team Rankings, I did not think I would ever see the day that Mississippi State out-recruited Texas...in FOOTBALL.

I'm not sure why some of these bigger programs hasn't picked up Dan Mullens yet.

Coming off a 4-8 season and an entirely coaching staff with only 1.5 months to recruit (And the class was a mess at that point), most teams would be happy with a top 20 class.

That's been the trend this decade

Yeah, but trends change quickly when you get a good coach in place...i.e. Saban at Alabama, Dabo at Clemson, etc. Recruiting to me is what usually dictates how well a rivalry game will go. Here are the past 3 classes for each school:

MSU:
2017: 34
2016: 17
2015: 22

UM:
2017: 5
2016: 6
2015: 37

Dantonio is an AMAZING coach, and gets a TON out of his players, but it is hard to make up for that big a talent gap...especially if the other coach is at least pretty good at developing talent.

yes, I conceded that you guys always win February. We'll see if it makes a difference on the field, now that Harbaugh is there.

What isn't added into these recruiting rankings is the players who were NFL eligible that Taggart got to stay at Oregon.

Tons of returning talent.

Yeah, I don't think I would drop my mortgage at Vegas on MSU beating UM in the fall for the foreseeable future. Not that it can't happen, it is a rivalry, but I think Harbaugh is a good enough coach to consistently win with a team of mostly 4-5* players against a team that will be mostly filled with 3* guys. Although, Dantonio does do amazing things with those guys.

Oregon kept tons of players from a team that went 4-8? Yeah thats the recipe for success.lol

I think it was John Mckay who said something to the effect of experience is overrated when you bring back players from a team who had a loseing season.
