BTW. I would add the that Redskins really don't need much more to be very serious contenders in the NFL. Since they didn't play yesterday it allowed me to take a closer look at the rest of the NFL. The level of overall play in the NFL is currently very bad overall.

There are a few teams that are very solid, but even they are beatable. Most teams just have major holes on at least one side of the ball & play is very sloppy & coaching suspect. You don't have to be the 85 Bears or 70s Steelers or 80s Niners to win in the NFL at the current time. Regardless of what happens this season I think that the Redskins prospects for the future are very bright.

That's called parity and what the NFL has been seeking to achieve. Really, while NE will be the favorite to win the SB, any team making the playoffs have a real chance since, as you said, everyone is beatable on any given day. Injuries could change everything.

Agree. However - I would also add that players need to be developed & put into situations where their skills are maximized. We have seen this with Cousins & the O line. This needs to start happening on the defensive side of the ball. I trust that they will do whatever it takes to make this work over the long term.

I absolutely agree with you. I believe few players excel in all systems. The draft and FA isn't just about the best player...it is the best player for the system you run.

And BB is not being used in a way that best fits his skills.

Yep - kind of the opposite of the NBA approach where only a handful of quality teams have a chance. I wonder if the NFL envisioned parity to primarily mean that most teams would be average or worse? To see teams like Denver or LA struggle to score any pts? To see the Cards & Saints basically play no defense? To witness games primarily being lost and not won & to include tons of penalties & turnovers?

Again - this sets things up nicely for teams like the Redskins to be serious contenders if not this season then certainly next season. They already have 2 of the major prerequisites - a solid QB and O line.

I can only guess what they envisioned is exactly what we are seeing. Many games going down to the last few plays, with week 15 concluded and close to half the league still in the playoff hunt. It makes for exciting games and keeps maximum eyeballs on the games, meaning more revenue.

Yep - I guess that you take the bad with the good. Most games & overall season come down to the wire because of bad play. The Redskins are a perfect example of this. They squeak out many games because they shoot themselves in the foot prior to that time & rarely make it easy on themselves. Ditto for the season overall - they most likely should have already clinched a playoff spot by now but didn't primarily due to late game defensive collapses & also missing a chip shot FG that would have eliminated their tie. They are not unique in this respect.

Give up on him .....no ...but he comes into camp in the mix and needs to earn his position next year. I'm not sold on him, IMO, he's had good games but he's pretty mediocre. Way too many "third and 13" being successful against this secondary for him not being a liability

Lesson learned by me was the fact I wanted Amerson gone when he was in DC but he's playing well in Oakland now so I'm not making that mistake again with Breeland.
he is having a down year , but no reason to give up on him . i think he would be an excellent safety for us
