The longest running basketball rivalry west of the Mississippi is back tomorrow night.

Idaho coming off its first 20 win season in forever has looked pretty inconsistent thus far beating two NCAA tourney teams from last year in South Dakota State and Arkansas-Little Rock while losing to Sam Houston State and San Jose State. Big last second win against UC Davis a few days back at least brings them into this game with some momentum. Perrion Callendret will likely be out again with an injury. True Freshman Trevon Allen will start in his place. WSU has a few talented big men and the Cougs have been scoring plenty of points. Idaho may have to keep up and that will require Vic Sanders to have a big game.

Player to watch for Idaho though is NIC transfer Brayon Blake. Really like what I've seen of him thus far.

WSU also comes into this one after looking pretty inconsistent with losses to New Orleans and San Jose State ( the Spartans had a pretty nice visit to the Palouse that week) but they have already taken down two other Big Sky schools in Montana and Montana State.

Line is WSU -4 which is fair. Idaho's taken the last two games but this may be WSU's year. Don Verlin likes to keep his teams at .500 if he can and Idaho is currently one game over.

Idaho was picked to finish in the top 3 in the Big Sky in pretty much every poll while WSU was picked dead last in the Pac-12. And yet, the teams will probably be pretty evenly matched. That's all you really need to know about the difference between those two conferences.

Interesting note: Ernie Kent will be calling a play for Idaho during this game because he won some charity auction. Kind of interesting story but if I were him I'd call the classic "Turn the ball over immediately" if I was him.

WSU’s Ernie Kent will begin game on the Idaho bench

Well...this is over. Had to turn it off. Just unwatchable basketball. WSU is bad but Idaho is so much worse right now.

Looks like we're done playing each other in basketball as well this year

You guys might have been able to beat us this year. We're pretty bad just lost to the Evansville Purple Aces on Saturday

It depends on the week. Don Verlin really likes to be right at .500 so it would benefit Idaho to have that game fall on a date when they're a game under.

LOL! Sounds strict on that. He doesn't like to occasionally win 2 games in a row then lose 2 in a row to make up for it.

Or even follow the Buffalo Bills strategy of having a 4 game winning streak sandwiched between 2 2 game losing streaks?
