Aside from the 30 second Glenn surprise (?), this season has sucked.

Dunno if I'd go that far...I'm liking the stuff with Negan and especially Dwight.

Nothing that hasn't been said so far, but they could have shot him like 10 times by now. And his overacting is ruining the character for me. Dwight is ok. Not crazy about him though.

Maybe disappointing is a better word.

It's kinda funny, I agree about his overacting...but it's also what's making me wanna watch.

As a whole, meh. But 4 of the 6 individual episodes have been stellar.

As I said earlier, though, the whole of this show does not equal the sum of the parts anymore.

These fucking bottle episode are pissing me off.

I think the basic assumption is that if someone were to kill Negan, in one of the many "opportunities", than every Alexandrian would be brutally killed. This is why Negan has "handed them" his head head on plate without fear of repurcussions, i.e. giving Rick Lucille.

They (producers/writers en sech) have shown that they(The Saviors) are "everywhere", and that their numbers are huge, and that most of them are alpha type males.

Rick has staved off the desire to fight, because at this juncture, it's a fight they will certainly lose.

The cow towing to Negan and the Saviors is really not that unbelievable. Most of Alexandria and the Hilltop are raging pussies. They've gone out of their way to show that.

Every now and then they're fine but it's starting to grate on my nerves as well. Especially when it's about a character that not a lot of people really cared about (or even forgot about) to start with. I would've much rather have had another episode with the Kingdom instead of the episode we got this past Sunday.

Yeah, I mean the problem for me is, and always has been, the slow plot progression. When it gets broken up in this way it takes us 6 episodes to get where I would like to have been in 2... I get that it is necessary to know how everyone got where they are now, but as someone else said, I'd rather they bounce around within a single episode instead of spending an entire episode on one facet... It just feels like we aren't getting anywhere... The ONLY purpose of the whole Tara episode would be to introduce Oceanside. Anything else is unimportant. I don't feel like the character of Tara was really developed any more and I don't care about her any more than I did before (which was very little)...

Its funny, I almost feel bad for the actress because she's on Talking Dead and they read these emails from fans that are "SO glad Tara is back!!!" and all the while I'm thinking that the majority of fans were really wishing she'd have dove in from out of nowhere and taken those lucille blasts to the head instead of Abraham or Glenn....

DiCaprio took this role instead of signing on for Pantom Menace. Who would have thought that doing "The Beach" over Star Wars would end up being a wash?

He was actually way too merciful.

Rick and company killed approximately 60 of Negan's men. In return, Negan only killed 2 of Rick's men (3 if you count Denise).

For Rick to fold the way he has shows that he has no balls whatsoever. He did the right thing to fold while in the lineup. There was nothing he could do in that situation. But to take Negan's cock in his mouth, and then say "thank you" afterwards?

Ridiculous.

He didn't want anyone else to die because of him. That's takes some balls as well.

Most of us know exactly where this is going and basically how it will end. And I am OK with how the story plays out. In fact, I remember at this point in the books, I was having a real problem with Rick as a leader in general as well. So the show, to me, is staying quite loyal to the books in the feel of each of the characters. Kudos for that.

But for Rick to (apparently) surrender their entire arsenal just doesn't make sense. And if he is just doing a rope-a-dope, than wouldn't SOMEONE need to be in on the plan? The only two that he could be in cahoots with as the story has been told would be Eugene and Gabriel, and neither of them are nearly trust-worthy enough in Ricks eyes at this point to be in on a plan like that. In reality, he would trust Michone and MAYBE Aaron with a plan like that, and Michone is clearly not in on anything at this point (Aaron might be). Glenn and Abe both would have been in, but they are dead. Maggie is at the Hilltop, Daryl is at the Santuary and Paul isn't in the inner-circle yet. Morgan and Carol are basically in exile.

Maybe not true about Gabriel; he trusts him with the kid, and the Rev covered nicely for Maggie with the fake grave.

Speaking of that fake grave..probably just a casket filled with rocks, right?

There are certainly rumors...

That is why I mentioned Gabriel as a possibility. But I have a hard time picturing Rick making that plan with Gabe so fast while still keeping Michone in the dark, AND taking her rifle away.

You know Aaron and Eric are up to something, but that is independent of Rick. And their reaction during the town meeting made it clear they were not part of any plan with Rick.

The usual is this a show about character or a show about plot disagreements.
