Hard to know what the subtext was here but I'd like to believe it was post game exhilaration not an indictment or rebuttal to any perceived 'lack of respect' as some would characterize the vine.

I love KC's emotion, the guy has a real fire. However, I do believe he was sending a message to someone with his rant to Scot. Maybe it wasn't Scot directly, but indirectly he was saying "show me the money"! To whomever decided to tag him this year because they weren't yet sold.

Probably not the best idea to basically get in your bosses face & tussle his hair. Oh well - it was in the heat of the moment. Something like this happens in the corporate world & you are probably on the street the next day.

Kirk needs to shut his trap at the end of games, because lets face it, he's no Dak Prescott.... I mean that is according to Earl the homer Cowboy queer over there. I toss my hands up... just cant win with idiots. My guess will continue seeing him standing on the highway protesting. With any luck he'll be on the same road im plowing through.

Listen, with RG3 we had his idiotic tweets to deal with. Now we have Kirk yelling something after every win. If he throws up all over himself in Dallas is SM gonna ask him "im I suppose to still like ya now" ... KC a damn better QB right now than 25 other teams QB's... including Black Jesus. We can't afford to lose him cuz aint not a damn thing better coming in next year. He could easily say "fuck ya'll at the end of year.... bottom line... SM and KC need each other. The problem will lie in the fact that he is gonna ask for the bank and SM cant afford to give him the entire branch. We need to stay relevant by signing other players as well. Could be a real dog fight.... but for now he needs to shut his trap.

Some times you need to remind the powers that be just how Forest Gump special their particular line of thought was. Something tells me that what could have been a $18 million a year average contract, is going to turn into a $23 million a year average if Kirk continues his current level of play. We will likely let Jackson walk, and try to retain Garcon. But the only way Kirk hits the free agent market is if one of two things happens

1. He throws 15 picks over the next six games
2. Some one convinces SMGM that he can find the next Rookie capable of stepping in and playing at a high level while also staying healthy.

Actually.. with some where between $50-60 million in cap space next year, money is the least of our concerns. Figure we will roll over around $10 million from this year... that would put us at $56 million in cap space. So even if we made Kirk the richest QB in the league and did an ungodly $30 million a year on average... we have the cap space to do it.

The real question becomes... if we gave Kirk say $22 million a year on average... will we NEED to spend heavily on free agents?? Im thinking not. Figure Kirk is 28, we get another 6-8 years out of him if he stays healthy.....

A whole lot can improve if we are NOT chasing the QB dragon as we have been the last what 25 years??

I'm not a cap person so I defer to you on our ability to handle a large contract. Seems how it's structured is the key component.

These days it seems the cost of doing business for a good starting QB starts at around 20 mil. And a good to very good QB even higher.

Here is the Luck deal:

6/29/2016: Signed a six-year, $139.125 million contract. The deal contains $87 million guaranteed, including a $32 million signing bonus. 2016: $12 million, 2017: $7 million (+ $6 million roster bonus), 2018: $12 million (+ $6 million roster bonus), 2019: $9.125 million (+ $12 million roster bonus), 2020: $11 million (+ $11 million roster bonus), 2021: $11 million (+ $10 million roster bonus), 2022: Free Agent

If KC wins a playoff game I think he might ask for this.

The guarantee is the key. That figure could have been relatively low if the deal was inked last offseason (which it probably appropriately was not). Just have to roll with it & hope that they can get this figure somewhat lower. In any case I don't think that they have any choice at this time than to sign Cousins - hopefully via extension but via the tag if the sides are far apart.

you like that ???

how you like me now ???

i believe these are all messages directed at the front office & it speaks volumes to how disrespected he feels, & rightfully so, over the absurdly low-ball offer they made him in the offseason.

now he has all the leverage & he knows it.

Did Scot smile? No. Did they hug? No. Did Kirk smile? No. Don't fall for the PR clean-up that took place this morning. I'm with Cooley on this one. He says he knows it's not Jay or Bruce. He insinuated that it had to be Scot. This is Krik in essence saying come correct in March or don't come at all. This is Kirk saying, stop talking down on me and get behind me.

If this was all love, Scot would have been all smiles and hugs. I've seen him embrace Jay after a big win. Body language was completely different. Kirk walked up to him, chest to chest, chin down, message sent.
