but please understand that they arent anything special this year.

We'll see. You may very well be right. The 'every time' stuff is your usual bullshit however.

I'm just saying in that situation wouldn't any defender (regardless of the team) do the same thing when there is no whistle? If it was a QB about to throw the ball and the defender was offside wouldn't he still try to sack the QB if there was no whistle? Or is the expectation that the player should just allow a free play?

By the way, according to the official box score of the NFL they did call it defensive offsides. But then they also noted unabated to the kicker. So that is a bit confusing.

1-10-SEA 35 03) 2-D.Carpenter 53 yard field goal is No Good, Short, Center-65-G.Sanborn, Holder-6-C.Schmidt. PENALTY on SEA-25-R.Sherman, Defensive Offside, 5 yards, enforced at SEA 35 - No Play. Unabated to the kicker.
I have no issue with Sherman continuing the play, it was wise to do so, but that doesn't mean the call shouldn't have been made. Of he stopped playing and the kick got off theres a good chance it's made, if it's missed they get another shot because he's offsides

Sherman went more into his knee than try fir the ball,

again, you don't get to make up your own reality.

There's a better reverse angle floating around that shows it even better.

Well. Good way to wake up this morning reading this.

I see no one us talking about the final play or that Jimmy and Russ craved the bills like thanksgiving turkey.

Oh and @purguy12 read your post about the Seahawks being nothing special. You are saying that ANYTHING done in that game done by Jimmy or Russ was nothing sort of special or Magic?????

Look on the bright side, at least no-one vaulted over the long-snapper...

...yet the refs still choked. Time to pay for full time refs, the NFL just might be able to afford it.

Meh. Ask NFL fans about full time refs. Or NBA fans. Or... well you get the picture.

Its still roughing the kicker. The Lead Official and NFL has already said they screwed up. On top of that you had the delay of game penalty that was on the refs.

Hmm. Question for you.

If the foot was drawn back for kicking. How could he have stopped the motion of kicking it? Still would have flagged it for Roughness

Not if he gets the ball first. He got the ball first.

On top of that you had the delay of game penalty that was on the refs.

Absolutely, agree 100%. Much more egregious error.

I agree with this statement. Just sucks to see a team benefit 3 games because of it. Oh well time to move on. Its been an issue for years and no changes have been made.

Because if the ball is touched first, the kicker isn't off limits.

False, I will stick with the people that make up the NFL and Rules. Both said they were wrong. On top of that he was offsides. LOL

It wasn't, and I'm pretty sure that doesn't hold up on a play that has been whistled dead.

Just like it sucks to have the Testaverde phantom TD go against the Hawks, or the stupid Jackson OPI in the '05 Superbowl, or a litany of other bad calls over the years.

Shit happens.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct should have been called on Buffalo's kicker for kicking Sherman in the gut on a dead ball. And then rolling around on the ground like a fool, pretending his leg just fell off below the knee.

The delay of game call was lame.

Also, on a side note. Why did it take the Refs soooo long to call delay of game on Buffalo the other 3 times. I mean, it pretty much took all the players standing up and waving their arms for the refs to realize it.

False, if the ball was in the air then yes. It was still on the ground. NFL and Lead Official already said they missed the call. U wont win this argument.

Oh ffs.

Several pictures have been posted already of Sherman's HAND ON THE FUCKING BALL, while the FG kicker is stull upright.

You didn't answer the question.

How could Carpenter have stopped the kicking motion if the kicking Foot was drawn back to kick it?

Heh, link us to the 'ball on the ground' part of the rules. I'll wait.
