I'm sorry that I don't want another Peyton Manning vs. the Chiefs situation where the player says he is healthy then goes out and completely destroys our chances. I'm sorry that I actually care about the well being of the player in Siemian. Not sure if you have ever had an A/C Joint Sprain before but they are not something you want to mess around with. That is an injury that if he takes another shot to that shoulder before it is healed that could ruin that shoulder for the rest of his life. So I don't think one game of him sitting is worth it if he isn't healthy. I have said that if he is actually healthy then yes start him. He has earned the starting job and has been impressive in his opportunities. But if he is not 100% (which I doubt he will be) then no I don't want to risk further damage. This is a long season and we will need both QB's and I would rather have both healthy for the playoffs rather than lose Siemian for the year because we had to have him on the field for this one game.

The other issue for me is him pretty much missing the entire week of practice. Yes he threw around a bit today but all team drills he sat on the sideline. And I do know those who actually watched practice said he was all over the place when he did throw so it is pretty obvious that his shoulder is bothering him and affecting his game. If this were Manning I don't mind him missing a couple of practices (although when he did it obviously didn't end well for us). Manning knew the system well and had already built great chemistry with the players that he can miss a day or two of practice. Siemian is still building that up with his teammates. Have to remember he didn't take every 1st team snap in training camp. So he missed out on some valuable snaps.

This is a real hard issue to argue - unless you are one of the Bronco offensive coaches - and have that close of perspective to have an opinion about what is the best thing to do.

I don't think it is one of those things where Siemian gets his job guaranteed because he is the starter. I don't think Kubiak puts an injured player out there if he is not 100%.

Personally - I wouldn't mind at all if Paxton Lynch got some more 1st team reps. A home game against a statistically challenged defense - yeah sounds nice for getting experience. As I've said before Siemian (as much as I like him) is a target for Lynch to exceed on his offensive value to the team -and Lynch looks like he can get there this season.

It's funny - Kubiak - in Houston - had starting QBs who out played their talent. He was never able to get the right guy at QB all those years with the Texans. Now - here with the Broncos - all of a sudden - he has two guys with high ceilings.

In a way - I feel sorry for Paxton Lynch - Siemian seems very well liked by guys like Chris Harris and Manny Sanders. This makes sense because both Harris and Sanders can understand what it is to overcome the status of high draft picks. I feel sorry for Lynch because he really has the plus tools to be a top QB in the league and he has a popular - young guy - playing at a high level in front of him on the depth chart.

I'm sure Lynch is feeling sorry for himself too! All the way to bank to cash those sizable checks the Broncos are paying him!
