I like it. As long as he is healthy.

Redskins signed C John Sullivan.

Kory Lichtensteiger has a season-ending calf injury, so Sullivan will slide in as the Redskins' immediate starter. Sullivan was one of the most durable players in the league from 2009-14, but missed all of 2015 with a back injury. He remained highly effective in 2014, but is now 31. He couldn't make it to final cuts in Minnesota. The pivot will remain a concern in Washington.

I didn't realize Litch was out of the year. No loss there. lol.

Considering they said it was a medium type injury yesterday, feels more like a Spaight to IR move from last year.

I agree. I wonder if he can be ready for Sunday. Looks like Long at C and Kojo at LG right now. They said Lavou ankle injury was minor but who knows.

Classy guy. Very cerebral. All the best to him. Was hoping he'd remain unsigned until we were deeper into the season, in the event of any injuries to our own O-line.

The knock on him, is that he is a low blocker (using more of his back than his legs) and was getting pushed back quite a bit in scrimmages/joint practices with Cincy, and also in practice.

I actually like him a lot. He's a great interview, and I was really hoping that he'd get on the radio more here until things shook out. He kind of went into hiding (can't blame him), but there was no question that some team wouldn't come calling sooner or later. It's what happens to linemen that are above average, but not there physically anymore. I just figured it'd be here... :sigh:

Did I read something somewhere about his stance possibly being an issue with regards to putting unneeded pressure on his back injury?

wait he got pushed back because he went low that can't be right the o-line is taught to go low or you will get pushed back if you go too high

So a guy they signed off the street is now starting and responsible for all the line calls? Can we now admit that the Spencer Long Experience has been a big problem?

I pulled it from Dean's quote which clearly was from an article the way it was written. Sounds crazy to me too.
Highly unlikely this Sun. Tho, Jay said he could step in for Long, if needed. Eg, Long needed at LG was how I saw that.

But listening to Jay, he'll likely be starting sooner rather than later at C. How soon is likely contingent on Lauvao and the LG spot.
