Welp my car was in the shop (yes, AGAIN!) and I was given a 2015 Nissan Rogue (with all the bells and whistles)
I actually really liked it.
Thoughts?

Nice SUV, I like how they look. Not the sportiest SUV you could find by any means. But roomy. I don't think I would get one, but if it does what you need and you like it, then go for it.
Yeah it does seem like a nice little toy. I don't really need it to be sporty since I am not going off roading or anything like that. I am still debating if I will trade in my 2008 Altima 3.5 SE or let it ride out till it dies. It only has 110,500 miles on it. But I also think I need to strike while I might have some trade in value for it.
I don't think they've changed that motor yet, and it's the good one. Might have a bit of value there still.
Naw, it wasn't a convertible... This one actually looks ugly imo
It is ugly...but you won't care as you long locks flap in the breeze.
I think that's a Murano convertible. Many are driven by old ladies on this island.

My golf buddy's wife had the Murano (used) which he liked...had some major trouble within 6 mos so she traded for a year newer ('14 maybe) Rouge loaded...lacks the power of the Murano, but she seems to like it...better on gas, easier to park, etc.
The one I drove (I think it was a '16) had plenty of power and leg room. My parents have a '15 Murano I believe (maybe '14) and it's too big for me, feel like i'm driving a boat
Really? I thought you might feel the opposite coming from a 3.5 Altima.
All Rouges have the same 2.5 4 banger that I have in my Altima, the torque specs are not that different but the sedan is 300-400 lbs lighter so it's noticeably quicker.
That said, "plenty" is subjective in this case, if you like it, go for it...but I do understand on the trade value...dealers have to re-sell it, so they make us take the margin hit on trades so they can make a profit. My wife doesn't like the Altima compared to the Accord, or certainly the Infiniti G37 I drive, but we're trying to get out of the car note biz for a while so she's grinning and bearing it.
Well, I mean compared to other SUV's. It wasn't as powerful as my current 3.5 but for an suv I thought it was.
Yeah dealers have to make money so how as well and I get that but it sucks about the retail value
Yep...if it were me I would've sold our Altima for that $9k cash offer...we bought it used in '12 and only owe about $2800 on it...take the profit as down payment on what she really wants and be done with cars for the next 8 to 10 yrs.
But...she will probably wait until we pay it off next yr and trade it (with 90k mi) for $4500 or something silly like that...it's the same damn thing but her mind doesn't work that so I stay out of it...happy with my wheels.
Yeah that sounds like the logical answer but right now I can't really afford that and other things going on in my life.
I feel ya.
I hate paying IRS (extra taxes after my withholding) and car notes more than anything, so I try to buy a car that I like driving within my means and get 5+ yrs out of it once I've paid it off.
It sounds like you're torn...keep your car or trade it...if you don't owe anything on your car, I'd lean towards keeping it....if you do owe on it, you're already paying a car note...I might be incline to trade it for something with a warranty to keep those maintenance cost to a minimum.
