Got there Friday night around 7 central time (the ~11 hour car ride one way sucks) and stayed in Bloomington. Checked out Minnesota's campus (very cool by the way) that night and ate in Dinkytown, then cruised around the city a little afterwards. Spent Saturday at the Mall of America for the first half of the day then took the light rail back downtown for the game. We had to leave relatively early on Sunday morning to get back home around 10pm eastern.

Not gonna say you made a mistake, but there are soooooo many places you could've gone and seen more interesting things.... unless shopping for something in particular was on your agenda.

That's awesome. My husband and I are on the same quest. Adding The Jake to our list in a few weeks, which will put us up to 12. Target Field is definitely a great park.

We were also at that same game. We haven't seen the Twins win many in person this year unfortunately.

Have you been to any Saints games since they moved to CHS last year? That's ALSO a very nice park. And still a fun time.

I liked what Antony did at the deadline. They don't seem to believe in Meyer anymore, so giving him up to relieve us from having to see Nolasco trotted out every 5 days is worth it. Will be tough to swallow if Meyer ever figures it out though.

Getting anything for Nunez and Abad were no-brainers. Too bad Plouffe has been hurt or I'm guessing he'd have been unloaded as well.

Wasn't Meyer who we got for Span?

I know not every deal works out, but we've had too many deals that haven't worked out

Well my mom and sister tagged along on the trip just for the shopping. I hate shopping but even an anti shopper like myself was pretty impressed and entertained. I will be back in the Twin Cities in September/October for the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine, any suggestions the second time around?

The Jake/Prog is decent, nothing amazing but certainly not a dump either. I was pissed I did not get the Miguel Sano slow globe!

After being at PNC, Target Field, Busch, and AT&T, I'm definitely not expecting much out of The Jake. But we have friends there and finishing the stadium tour is on our bucket list, so we have to go there sometime.

The Coliseum is easily the worst stadium we've been to so far. Even the Metrodome was nicer than that place.

Yes. Meyer was part of the Span deal.

Which is why Terry Ryan no longer has a job.

Great to hear you had a good time! What else were you able to do while you were in town? Sights seen?

Yeah - Twins had a nice little run in the 2000s (9 of 10 seasons with winning records). Some fun races down the stretch with the Tigers. Getting under the skin of Ozzie Guillen(amirite @craigk217??? :dhd:). :suds:

Sadly, they were never able to get over the hump. :sigh:

Best of luck to el Tigres, and to you and your pops on your continued quest. :thumb:

Tropicana has been the worst I've been to by far, total dump. Old Busch and Veterans Park in Philadelphia are probably the next worst in line, both cookie cutters nearing the wrecking ball when we went. Although it's new I didn't care for Nationals Park either, no charm to it.

Tough to say without knowing your interests.

I'd say check out Matt's Bar on Cedar... home of the Jucy Lucy (@HammerDown will ask you to pick him up some). You have the chain of lakes nearby, Minnehaha Falls will be amazing at that time, if the leaves haven't fallen yet. Of course, these are all Minneapolis locations.

MN Landscape Arboretum is also in Chaska and may be worth a visit.

Watching a game in the Coliseum was one of the most depressing sporting events I've ever personally sat through. The team was terrible. You are outdoors and can't see a single thing outside the stadium other than the sky. It's a concrete jungle and the sun was shining, so it went from a nice air temp of 75 to about 115 degrees after about 30 minutes. All of the seats about about a mile from the field. The stadium is in one of the shittiest areas. It's surrounded by nothing but concrete parking lots for miles.

At least with the Metrodome you didn't have to use binoculars if you bought decent seats.

Jesus Christ woman, the thing is several centuries old...and nothing was worse than the Dome, at least not any park I've been to.

Me, I remember when it was built. Used to go when the Twins would come to town so i could see the Killer play.

Seen a lot of games and a lot of concerts there.
