Still have Matuella, Mendez, Guzman, Cordell, Gallo, and Profar...they will be okay and will reload it soon.
Don't forget Ariel Jurado

We need to focus on picking up some high ceiling pitching prospects soon. The only person I hated giving up in the Hamels trade was Thompson.
Also Tanner Roark with the Nats...
Exactly, and we might have the best bullpen in baseball now.
Yes...it was one of JD's worst panic moves....This one burns too, Christian Guzman right?
For me, it's:
Profar
Desmond
Beltran
Beltre
Odor
Lucroy
Mazara
Moreland
Andrus
When Choo is back, he takes Profar's spot.
I expect them to make a bigger splash in the international J2 signings next summer. That will restock the pond.Don't forget Ariel Jurado
We lost 2, 3 & 5, Other than that it was untouched, it's still a stout system, just a little less top heavy, of which I only considered Brinson elite
Pretty depleted when you lose 3 of your top 5 prospects in the minors. The other side of the argument is the big league club is scary now. JD has done a good job of identifying which years to really go all in and to make a run.
i heard somewhere that Odor and Andrus will hit at the bottom of the order probably 9th(Odor) & Andrus at 8th

I'm fairly aware of the farm system. I stand by it.
Starting pitching depth is what the big club needs more than anything. Texas has handed away some strong talent in that area the past few years. At some point were gonna need to develop a true TORPIts not depleted when it was pretty stacked about 20 deep, Luis Ortiz and Tate were overrated to me, so I don't see any serious depletion
Doesn't mean I didn't hate losing Ortiz

I think you know the buzz names, Jim Bowden is aware of our system but all he knows is buzz names, he doesn't know much of anything after about 10
Top 5 going into the season were Gallo, Mazara, Brinson, Tate, Ortiz. Mazara is on the big club now, still have Gallo, and the other 3 are gone.
That's not a bad thing, its why you stack the farm system, so you have assets to trade away for big league guys when you're ready to make a push like they are this year. It's a depleted system now, but not a bad system in any stretch of the imagination. Probably still top 1/2 of baseball even with the guys they just lost.
I worry about the sustainability of that. I mean the market for starting pitching was stupid high this season. We would have been lucky to get. Cole Hamels for that same initial package this year.Developing one would be nice, but I see mostly 3s and lower right now, maybe a 2 if things go right, we've been pretty successful at accumulating talent in bulk and packaging it for TORPs
