Need to Know: What is the 2016 Redskins’ expectation for wins?

what do you guys think ?

i expect us to post our first back to back winning season since 1992

most long term posters have seen my predictions in the past as 6-10 , wash rinse and repeat and they would have a case

this year i think we will compete with some winning teams and pick up a win or 2 or 3 . i think we will compete for the NFC east title

and if everything goes right for us i see us at 10 -6 at the top end 9-7 as probable , and 8-8 and the bad end

how our defense performs will be the difference in my opinion

i expect our offense can perform at a superior rate but can the defense keep us in a game when the offense isnt clicking

the hardest thing is our rush defense if we give up 5 yds per attempt on first down we are in trouble . if we give up 4.8 yds per carry like last year overall we will have a losing team

i think our make shift line can improve on that but wont add much to the pass rush , and our tackling will need to be improved with better angles being taken and our coaches having us in the right play call to attack the rush but in the end there is a talent gap

I think our defense will be slightly improved over last year, but still in the middle of the pack. On offense, our passing attack will be lethal, but I'm concerned about our ability to run the ball. Not sold on any of our RBs. Jones has a lot to prove still. Overall, it just depends on our health. IF we lose KC or Trent, the season could be a loss (if any team loses their starting QB, the season is in jeopardy). IF we can stay relatively healthy, I can see 9 wins and in the hunt for the division champions. If we get a few surprises at some areas of weaknesses, line DL or ILB, we could win 10. But if the injury bug hits at a critical spot, we might only win 6 or 7. Just too early to tell.

This is the most talented roster that we had in years. I was right last year predicting 9-7. I will go with 10-6 this year and another division championship.

Just like last season the new draft class could have a huge impact on the success of this team. You have the stud WR who could help open up the field for the other receivers. You also have two secondary additions who could help an already improving unit with the development of the younger players & addition of Norman. The big wildcards are Ioannidas and Marshall. If these guys contribute it could go a long ways in helping the areas that are considered the biggest issues w/ the team - running & stopping the run.

Injuries are always the wildcard as is the development of Cousins. They certainly have the potential to do well but that is far from a given with their brutal schedule.

I just love how everyone is handing the Cowboys the division this year. Their defense looks awful on paper and Dez is going to have to have a Julio Jones type season for them to be successful.

Well thought out post dad. The obvious unknown is injury, to the Skins and their opponents. It seems like pass offense and defense will be our strong points and the run game on both sides of the ball will is the area to be concerned about.

I agree when the starting QB goes down on every non-dominant defensive team in the NFL, the season is over. This is where I think KC can be different though. In his first year as a starter he showed very good awareness and took far fewer sacks than people expected. I would not be surprised if he takes fewer than 20 all season. I think KC can become similar to Manning and Brady with regard to health.

Agreed. It's actually one of his better traits. He gets rid of the ball quickly and decisively. But they all get hit and eventually injured. Can't think of one QB that has played more that a couple of seasons that hasn't missed time due to injuries. Maybe Cam, but he is as big as most of the defenders hitting him.

Actually, Manning, Brady, Brees are hardly ever hurt because of their presence and decisiveness.

But they have all missed significant time due to injury. It's part of the job description. You are going to get nailed and probably get injured. Hopefully if/when KC takes that vulnerable hit and get dinged, it's not for more than a few weeks.

In Manning's lengthy 18 year career, he has missed time in 2 seasons.

Brady has missed time in one season.

Brees hasn't missed time since he left SD.

exactly. Even the best in the world get hit and injured. No matter how decisive they are, they are going to get injured. Its very reasonable to expect KC to miss time in his career. Lets just hope its not this year.

Have you bought your Browns # 10 jersey yet or are you going to wait until the season starts? Keep trying to convince us that you are a diehard Redskins fans - perhaps someone will buy that line.

I don't think Sty is a dyed in the wool Griffin fan. My take is he liked him and that is fair. I think Sty's points are fair. We have bet on guys who have had a good year or a few good games and lost. As I pointed out we did not bet on a couple of guys who had a good year and went on to be at least B or B+ QBs.

I have said it many times. I am a Cousins fan boy. Having said that if he plays under the tag and has a good year it is a risk SM was willing to take. There is still a month to sign the guy too. Sometimes these things come down to the 11th hour.

Hell if they screw it up we always have Nate Sudfeld. :D

You're quite obsessed with this, too bad you only saw what you wanted to see and not the justification for it. For the record I am not a fan (Fanatic) of the Washington team, but a die hard supporter of it and for far longer than you have been.

Sorry - I don't agree at all. Remember - this is the guy who claimed well into last season that the Redskins would figure out a way to bring back RG3 when it was obvious to the rest of the planet that RG3 was history with the Redskins. He has also has never given Cousins any credit at all. It is one thing to claim that Cousins still has to prove himself & is not a proven franchise QB (& I agree for the most part).

It is quite another to say that he is getting paid strictly on potential. Potential does not include setting franchise records & leading a team to the playoffs - that is called an accomplishment. Sure he could revert to bad habits & perhaps not be in their plans in a few years, but cmon give the guy credit for something.

Until someone else proves otherwise I would state without question that Sty is much more of an RG3 fan than a fan of the Redskins. I am not saying that he is a bad person - just not exactly the model for being a Redskins fan.
