Coaching staff has talked him up since day one signing him, about how great he is in practice etc. I gotta see it on the game field first. So far I haven't seen it, but his opportunity has been limited. Here is to him putting it together this year and showing practice flashes during the actual game. Golden opportunity for him and Zaire this year.

Last year Zaire earned a roster spot but due to politics in sports was stashed on the PS and he was down a bit about it.

Why? Was it because he was for Trump? Or for Hillary?

Politics plays a huge role in sports.

Let's say - you have Zaire Anderson and Cory Nelson trying to make the team. Zaire is clearly better than Cory Nelson, but Nelson was the draft pick and Anderson was the UDFA - so the decision you are describing as political was based on who was more likely to get picked up on waivers and who could make it through to the practice squad. If that is what you are referring to - then I wouldn't say that was political (favoring one over another for a familial or fraternal or ideological bond) - it wasn't meritorious - I would agree with that.

Wait a minute. If a coach talks up a player he is just thinking trade value. Where have you been Crash ? Hello? Simian? ;)

Is that Zaire telling you that he felt like he won the spot or is that actual coaches telling you he was the better but the easier guy to sneak through on the waver wire? Because I doubt many players would say they didn't earn a spot on the team. Not saying he didn't deserve it and I can't wait to see how that 3-person race plays out just wondering where the info is coming from because that changes the perspective on how much stock to put into it.

That is Zaire, others players and my own eyes. Let's not forget Zaire got raved reviews form coaches and players I talk to on Denver were surprised he was hidden on the PS. It worked out fine... He had an outstanding camp and PS.

I'm not saying it was a bad idea by Denver, but I am saying Zaire has a good case for himself. It wasn't like we just put him on the PS after an ok camp. The guy lit it up, which in the NFL is very common for an undrafted guy to light it up in PS and still have to work his way from the PS.

Cool. I do remember him getting rave reviews. For all those thinking our ILB spot is going to have some huge drop off with Trevathan gone I think we will once again just see the team have an unknown to the rest of the country emerge and play well. It really has been incredible to see this team go from Al Wilson-DJ Williams-Woodyard-Trevathan-and whoever is next.
