its just very odd to give up your 4th round pick in a draft that is very deep in talent. Lets hope it works out.
So what's the problem? The one thing that is not even is we have SM picking and other don't so 2 picks for one works for me. Plus the Saints could suck next year so it may be a fairly high 5th.
No problem for me. I'm convinced Scot has targets in the 5th thru 7th that he sees contributing this year.So what's the problem? The one thing that is not even is we have SM picking and other don't so 2 picks for one works for me. Plus the Saints could suck next year so it may be a fairly high 5th.

Is it really that deep in talent? Or was that media hype?
I think it was probably media hype.
Perhaps, they scouted and they didn't see any value in the fourth. So why waste a fourth round pick on a fifth round prospect? Why not trade that fifth round prospect for a fifth round pick next season that perhaps has better draft depth? If that is the train of thought, it is freakin brilliant.

If you had six picks but all six made the team and contributed,
or 12 picks, and half of them didnt make roster and only 4 out of the 12 turned out to contribute...
Which team ACTUALLY did better in the draft???
Its great to have a boat load of picks. But to this point looking outside the bubble, we got a future WR, a dime LB and a 3rd/4th CB. Still have the worst D-line in the Division, a question mark at RB, and question at Safety and Center.
Inside the bubble, I like our picks... but from a total team perspective, we have addressed nada.

We do not have the worst dline in the division. Dallas wins that contest hands down. I agree with you that C and RB have not been addressed yet. Cravens can be a SS. It looks like Cravens, Hall, Burton, and Nacho for safeties. Norman, Breeland, Culliver, Fuller, the fla kid for Cb's.
Doctson was a brilliant pick from a team standpoint. We will be losing one of our top two next season, so why wait until next season to address it?
I think Cravens will be our starting SS and a LB in dime from day one.
Fuller will be a nickel/dime and possibly our FS. We don't know.
I know you want DL but the more I look at how this draft is shaking out, all those defensive linemen we were ALL clamor isn't for were overrated. Likely, they were looked at as equals to the guys on the roster today, at best. None of them could beat out the guys currently to be in the rotation now and their ceilings were not very high.

Its just very odd. I had never seen a team totally trade out of the 4th round. The 4th round is where you can get a starter. i.e. Breeland.
I am sure it happens and the list of fifth round starters is probably pretty close. Believe me, when I first looked, I was outraged too. But the trade value chart was created via mathematical formula and is pretty damn accurate.
Right?!!!!!!I have never been this excited for the fifth round of the NFL Draft.
Wa gave up 122 yards a game on the ground last year. We let Knighton walk and Hatcher retired... We have the worst D-line in the division... possibly the conference. And I expect us to be in the conversation for worst D-line in the league when all is said and done.
