Am I the only one who never read the comics but reads the spoilers anyway? Just curious.

I haven't read the comics and I try not to read the spoilers, but every once in a while, I just cant resist the big, red, shiny, candy-like button. . .

And sure, I don't agree that they're equivalent with other groups either. But they crossed a line when they decided to wipe out another group that they didn't know anything about, to achieve their own ends. That's when they start becoming like those other groups. Thus the internal tension in the group, and within people like Carol.

I think they cover it better in the books, but the sanity of these people would be precarious at best. In effect, they're all suffering from PTSD, and it never really lets up.

They've kinda' white-washed some of the darker elements of 'retaining your humanity' in the TV show, because, well it's a network TV show.

But they did know something about that group, Daryl, Abraham and Sasha were going to be robbed and killed at random by those people. I don't remember if they knew that before they agreed to the deal but if they did then they knew enough. Jesus was also a potential threat yet they let him live since he did not try to kill them.

Actually just saw the clip. It was pretty fast, but someone in the comments broke it down and now I could see what he was talking about...

Based on what I saw in the video it looks like the priest is in the the line of fire, or at least he shares the scene with Lucille ( it looks like.) Rick and Abraham are carrying someone on a gurney, when they are flashed with light. Also the group of saviors on the road who meets Ricks RV have a guy hogged tied alive initially then he is on his back untied dead. Who ever that is, it seems is some one rick knows perhaps from the hilltop group because he isn't that broken up about it. Also, it looks like Morgan is going on some sort of trip (on horse back) to a town that appears to have been quarantined to some degree. Similar to the one he was in when he was "crazy Morgan".

Is someone needs to put this under "spoiler" go ahead, I am not sure how to do it....

They knew about the saviors before the agreement with hilltop. The saviors stopped, Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham...we're going to kill one of the and force the other two to take them to Alexandria. It is all confirmed with discussions with Geoffrey and then emphasized with the return when Geoffrey is stabbed.

Humanity is a man made myth. We have been indoctrinated with right and wrong but we are still animals deep down.

They may suspect that they're the same groups, but they don't know. Any pre-emptive action is by definition, pretty morally grey.

And no, we haven't been 'indoctrinated' with right or wrong, it's bred in our bones. It's learned behavior, and what sets us APART from animals. We cooperate, thus we survive. A cooperative society will win out over one that doesn't. Small or large.

Sports teams are an awesome microcosm of this. A less talented TEAM will triumph over a more talented group of individuals more times than not.

Do we still have the base underlying nature that we can revert to? You bet. But look at civilization. Periods of anarchy are periodic and short lived.

TWD essentially bends over backwards to come up with a scenario where the anarchy is constant and sustained. Because that simply doesn't happen much in real life.

conflict ----> winner/loser -----> ORDER

the times we spend under 'order' are longer, pretty much always.

Nope...anarchy is seldom here today because of oppression. That is the only reason the Middle East isn't the shining example of anarchy is oppression. When oppression stops there, ISIS takes over and essentially is anarchist or oppressive depending on how you look at it.

Pre-emptive strikes are not morally grey. That is like saying shooting a guy who has a gun pointed at you is wrong because he hasn't pulled his trigger yet.

Can't disagree enough. We have rules (and we follow them) because they make us successful. Go live in the woods for a week sometime, and try to get along by yourself. It's educational.

From the earliest hunter/gatherer societies, all the way through modern times, we have shared and cooperated to be successful and it can't really be argued, because it's well, our shared history.

The middle east is a small group of haves oppressing a large group of have-nots. In the west we've had hundred of years to get that dynamic out of our system... (see Magna Carta etc) and codify rules to keep the masses happy.

The middle east have nots have few reasons to buy in and play nice. Not surprisingly then, their cycles of violence are much more frequent.

Your example of pre-emptive is hilarious. Of course a pre-emptive strike would be someone coming up to you with their hands held up, and you blow them away with your gun because they MIGHT be hiding a gun in their waistband.

If they're pointing a gun at you, their intent is pretty clear, and there's no need to be 'pre-emptive.'

:)

Contains a international clip for the season finale. Doesn't spoil anything that we don't already know.

How about Daryl, who's not even supposed to be in the series anyway (he doesn't exist in the comics).

Someone should explain what the phrase "fan favorite" means to the author of this article. I doubt that they'd get rid of one of their biggest draws. I have to assume they make bank off Daryl considering at least half the Walking Dead merchandise I see features him.

True, but what if the actor wants to leave?
