CJ Anderson staying in Denver kinda shocks me. Given the cap considerations, the losses on defense that need to be filled, and the QB situation, I didn't think the Donkeys would match. .but they did.

And now CJ will have basically the same line, and another limp armed QB like he did when he lost his job. Except this time the limp armed QB won't have the mind of Peyton Manning to help him out. Bad combo imho.

And let's not forget, Hillman is an unrestricted free agent. Haven't heard a whisper as to what's going on with him yet, but there's certainly no lock that he stays in Denver too.

I dunno Joe. .Wallace is sort of an enigma. He wasn't semi relevant in Pit. Because he was a good WR, rather he was great at taking the lid off, and had a QB that could take advantage of that. In Minnesota, he still could, but the QB wasnt exactly a risk taker. Now in Baltimore, Flacco definitely cam outthrow coverage, but can Wallace still outrun it? Smith is still the guy, but age is finally catching up with his durability. Wallace could just be a deep threat / insurance policy, one that would make for sneaky good streaming. ..if you guess the right week. And a very nice grab should Smith, or Aiken, go down
Geesh..totally forgot about Wallace in Miami. .but still same thing Tranny want a guy that could take advantage of what he does well either.

And we both forgot all about Perriman being around. I think Aiken might be a #4

As lefty mentioned on another thread, Denver matched Miami's offer.
That practically catapults Jay Ajayi as the starter in Miami.
I would also say that Anderson's value takes a hit staying in Denver, as it seems he and Hillman may have the same workload they each had last season.

And while we're on Denver, they still have to find a QB. Will it be Kaepernick? Or RG3? Or Sanchez? Foles may be let go. Options are thin and not very promising. From a fantasy perspective, you'd have to think that this hurts Demaryius and Emmanuel.
Treff's response to Denver's problems

I don't think he takes a hit - just stay stagnate. Miami under used Miller so badly I don't think CJ's value (fantasy-wise) would have been better there - likely worse. Ajayi does theoretically become the 'starter' in MIA now, so his value will be greater than last yr but will be more of a RB 2 (or 3) based upon the Dullphins history of RB usage.
The QB situation in DEN is worth monitoring. With Sanders and Thomas still around they could make an average guy pretty darn good (ref Fitz with Marshall and Decker).

True, but that may be a reason they fired that staff and went with Gase.
Now I hear CJ?K is interviewing in Miami. If that happens, @The Foot will be giddy.

I'd like to hear @Yellow Fuzzies weigh in on the Broncos.

Martellus Bennett to Pats.......Tom Brady stock staying at the top, if not rising a little.
2 huge TEs that can both block and catch passes?
yikes.

What Hogan lacks to Welker's agility, he gains with straight speed and strength... yes, he'll fit in well.

As for Incognito, I'm on his side. Not for what he said or how he acted in Miami or anywhere else, but for how he's been since he's been here. Pro bowler. We definitely needed him back. Very happy with that signing.

See, I actually think Incognito was the victim in Miami.

He is an asshole and a bully for sure, but Jonathan Martin was never cut out for the NFL and he knew it. Martin used the media to exploit some over the top locker room antics for his own personal gain.

To succeed as an NFL O-lineman, you have to be a tough SOB. Incognito was trying to help toughen up his teammate, and he was blackballed from the league. Bullying exists in these locker rooms, but if you can't stand up to it, you aren't cut out for the NFL. There are a number of other professions where bullying is commonly accepted as a training method (think elite military training). Traits needed to succeed in the NFL are pretty damn close to those needed on the battlefield.

While some can't hang, that is not necessarily a bad thing. If I were an NFL QB, I would need to know the men protecting my livelihood are fucking killers on the field. Don't put soft Jonathan Martin out there. Give me Incognito all day long.

Further reinforcing what I said a week ago about Bennett...
"
The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears had "pervasive doubts" about Martellus Bennett's commitment.
Per reporter Dan Wiederer, Bennett offered "minimal effort to conform to the unselfish and focus-driven culture" the Bears are trying to instill under coach John Fox. Wiederer also confirms Bennett's late season ribs injury, which landed him on injured reserve for four games, was essentially a sham. In the end, the sides' divorce boiled down to the fact that Bennett wanted a better contract and the Bears were dead set against it. So is life for a player in a league where teams monopolize the negotiating power with non-guaranteed deals."

If he couldn't conform to the unselfish and focus driven culture in Chicago, I have serious doubts he hacks it in NE

Does Chicago actually have that culture?

Belichick got Randy Moss to buy in, he can get something out of Bennett.

NE has tried it before getting players that previous teams had talked down on with mixed success (Haynesworth or Moss are pretty opposite ends of the spectrum on success there). Just depends if he's willing to buy in.

Yeah that's kinda what I was getting at. He stuck out in an "unselfish culture" that included Jay Cutler..that's not good

where is all the doom and gloom for David Johnson now that Chris Johnson is back in Zona?

I still think that DJ will be given the 1st crack, but CJ will be lingering and siphoning carries if he's healthy.

Pretty much the reason I have Gurley ahead of him, and on the same level with Rawls, not ahead when talking about these young guys. And I know everyone wants to completely discount Ellington, but fact remains he's still there, still earning a paycheck, and when active, helps the team win with the ball in his hands, so he can't be completely disregarded either

It may be hard to tell from what the Bears actually show on the field, but GM Pace and HC Fox have had to repair what the former GM Emery and HC Trestman had broken. And part of what they broke is "character" and accountability. I applaud what they've done so far. (Like mending the bridge to Urlacher.)

As for Bennett, I liked him. Good hands. Tough to tackle. Funny. But he looked slow at times. Disinterested other times. Maybe he thought he was Rod Tidwell...

I would pay good money to watch Bennet scream at Hoodie..."SHOW ME THE MONEY! " even more if he could get BB to say "I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE!"

Well, what have we missed?

Alfred Morris signs with Cowboys. Everyone raved about the Dallas O-line last year. McFadden found new life in Dallas at age 28. Was it the O-line? Dunbar is younger but was seldom used. Morris is one year younger than Run DMC, but maybe he can find new life behind the O-line?

Josh Hill signs tender with Chicago. Word is that the Saints can match the offer but probably won't. To some, Hill was a sleeper to slide into the vacated Jimmy Graham role last season. He didn't. With an aging Zach Miller on the Bears who is injury prone, Hill may see some relevance late in the season if Miller can't stay on the field.

Seems like weird fit his on the field performance has declined as the Redskins moved away from zone blocking his strength is his vision both finding holes and setting up blocks on the move. Dallas should have went after a more physically gifted RB.

Robert Griffin III's two-year deal with the Browns is worth $15 million, and includes $6.75 million guaranteed.

Not sure what I think about RG3 in Cleveland.

I'm sure to take at least 1 gamble as my QB2 in a league just to see if anything pans out.
I like the chances of Barnidge to have another decent year with RG3, or at least the opportunity to prove last year wasn't just a fluke.

Robert Griffin III signs with Browns. I like the RG3 signing. He was hurt a lot. But he was good (at least from a fantasy perspective). If the Browns do not try to force a square peg into a round hole and let him do his thing and not insist that he become a pocket passer, I say RG3 is a top 10 QB.

Reuben Randle signs with Eagle. To me he just signed away his fantasy relevance. Too crowded for me with Matthews and Agholor. Especially with Bradford at the helm.
