So now we are on the cops shoot black people thing? More whites are killed by cops yearly than blacks and I am happy with that too. Show me the black guy that was doing nothing wrong and reached for a candy bar and was killed by the cops.

Do you think society should have different standards or should certain cultures change?

Apply those instances into the contract to protect the player. I have already stated I would give Galette 3 million but that isn't what this thread was about.

First off i didnt mention the color of the person with the Snikers in his pocket. I was more pointing out that you dont have to be black or white to be hard wired to do a preemptive strike in a perceived danger situation. Cops do it all the time, normal people do it a little less frequently, but depending on your upbringing some people are more prone than others.

I think Societies SHOULD have different standards and cultures. If not, whats the point? For every one to be the same?? There have been people who worked towards that goal, it failed miserably.

And no the thread started off with Gallette WANTING $7-9 million. It then morphed into a fuck em we dont need him any way, then took a bent towards we shouldnt want him because he hits women and eats puppies.

And now... here we are. :D

No you didn't but you did mention the white cop...then you specifically mentioned black guys in DC.

I don't want people to be the same but there has to be a set standard of laws for government to treat people equally. You can't have the law to apply differently among people in the same region just because of their individual culture.

I never said I wouldn't take him because he hits women. You keep throwing that in there. I said I wouldn't pay him as much because of NFL discipline. I do not believe we need him...that part you got right. At 7-9 million, I do say fuck him and stated I would laugh in his face.

I mention black and white because like as not there are cultural differences. Not only in how they will likely react in certain situations, but also in HOW those reactions are going to be taken by the public.

First off, who decides what is right and wrong within a society?? For the majority of this societies existence here in this country, ONE cultural group has been deciding how every one should act, and for the most part the laws to this day as well as social practices are still biased towards the majority. And we have laws right NOW that only apply if you are NOT a part of a particular culture or racial background. Not just customs, laws. So if we are going to have this group of laws that applies to all, we shouldn't have a sub set of laws that only apply to some.

NO you didnt say it, but there has been an underlying tone that his off field issues are a major reason we shouldnt resign him and shouldnt have signed him in the first place. As far as not needing him, if healthy he makes our pass rush better, and our LB group deeper. So even if its not him, we need some one. Sorry if Im just not as impressed with Smith as some appear to be. He got half his sacks against one team. As far as price, I think the GM is more capable of determining worth than any of us. I admit $7 is a bit high, $9 is over the top. But $4-6 million if he produces would not be out of the range.

And we rarely saw Smith do that.

But lets put it this way. If the TEAM really thought Smith was all that, why even pursue Gallette at this point?? You dont try and sign a starter if you already have one. It would be a waste of cap space, a roster spot, and likely do more harm than good if Gallette is the devil some seem to think he is correct??

Because he could be a very good pass rusher at a cheap price and pass rushing is one of the most important parts of football. I think Smith is great and I still think we should bring back Gallette.

NO doubt I think he has potential to be good, maybe great. But as i have said, if the team thought he was the answer, no need to publically state we plan to try and resign Gallette. You dont sign a starter if you already have one.

I dont follow. They can both get on the field. I dont think publicly stating that really means much. Smith is gonna get playing time either way.

I agree Smith will get playing time. But again, if you are content with your starter ( in this case Smith) you dont have a need to bring in a guy to take his spot right?? I just get the feeling the GM isnt going to sit back and assume Smith is it, and you dont bring in Gallette unless he is the assumed starter.

10 sacks for two years doesn't make you a game changer...teams do not fear Galette. They do not game plan for Galette.

I don't know if I'm the only one who is reading the above statement as over a 2 season period Galette came up with 10 sacks. Its accurate, though possibly a little misleading as well.

During the 2011 and 2012 seasons Galette played in 28 games starting 2 of them and came up with 9.5 sacks over those 2 seasons.

During the 2013 and 2014 seasons Galette played in all 32 games starting 28 of them and totaled 22 sacks over those 2 seasons. 12 sacks in 2013 when he started 15 games and 10 sacks in 2014 when he started 13 games.

Far as Galette being a game changer. I can't call it, but if Galette can return to 2013/2014 form. Pairing him with RK and putting Smith in the mix could give the Skins their best and most effective pass rush since the days of Manley/Mann. I'm not saying that's guaranteed to happen, but if it were to happen. I'd be OK.

I was talking when he averaged 11 sacks over a two year span. That doesn't make him a game changer. Teams don't and never did fear him. He isn't the kind of guy you have to give help to stop. That being said, I don't mind signing him, but only at the right price.

Recently we have had a defense people looked forward to playing.

Baby steps. No one fears Gallette, and I doubt any one actually fears Kerrigan either.

But first you got to get to the level of where your defense is actually respectable. I think this would be a step in that direction.

Lets get solid and respectable for now, worry about feared down the road.

So how do we handle the cultural differences when it comes to law? Maybe aspects of "black culture," whatever that is, need to change.

Which laws only apply to one sect or another? What laws should change to favor the minority? In what world should a majority of people suffer for a minority of people?

I was happy when we signed him last season. I would be happy to sign him again, just not at the price he wants. I would pay up to 3 million. I agree, if he produces then 4-6 million is a fair price but he has to produce first. He isn't worth that chance when we have other options at the position. Realistically, I would give him 3 mil and push it to 4.

I agree with you on Kerrigan as well but at least RK was homegrown and healthy.

I am fine with getting respectable but believe there are better places to use those resources.

First off, the best way to handle cultural differences when it comes to law, is to get rid of the separate treatment based on cultural difference. and yes they do still exist.

Which laws only apply to one sect or another? What laws should change to favor the minority? In what world should a majority of people suffer for a minority of people?

First off who said any law should change to favor minorities?? Although that sentiment generally can only come from some one who has never had to question if they got stopped, or questioned because of the color of their skin. Also, we have a standing law in this country that allows police to stop people in Arizona and demand that they show proof they have a right to be here. Now Im willing to bet, no one with Blonde Hair and blue eyes has ever gotten told to show proof they have a right to be in this country. IM fine with laws NOT favoring any group. BUt it irks the shit out of me to know that there are laws designed to harass people for no other reason than that they arent a member of the majority.

I was happy when we signed him last season. I would be happy to sign him again, just not at the price he wants. I would pay up to 3 million. The ultimate catch 22 then, you dont want to pay him until he produces, but you wont know if he is able to produce unless you pay him. Because much like Rak, some one is going to pay him more than that $3-4 you think he is worth.

Can you show me the separate treatment?

The people that question why they got stopped need to see if they were in the wrong or fit the description of somebody turned in. The law in Arizona doesn't allow them to be stopped for being a minority. They have to supply the papers if asked, just like they have to show a license to drive. They committed a crime and it is the equivalent of a background check to see if there are more warrants. From there, the police can ask anybody to prove they are citizens...black, white, or Hispanic. Why does that law in Arizona actually exist? As of 2012, there were more than 400,000 ILLEGALS in Arizona that we knew of and I guarantee many more live there now. Why do they live there? Because the federal government won't do their job.

And just like RAK, I will hope he sucks at his next local.

So you dont think the fact that an ethnic group that makes up less than 20% of the population at large also supplies 50-60% of our prison population across the country counts as separate treatment based on race/culture?? Or the fact that a minority convicted of the same crime will get on average a 20% longer sentence than some one from the majority??

As far as the debate on Illegals, this country was founded on Immigrants ( well after it was stolen from the original owners). But I must have missed the part where they Edited the inscription on the Statue of Liberty to say

Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! ~Edit~ As long as you arent of Hispanic descent ~End Edit~

Most of these Illegals would gladly become LEGAL if the Federal Government actually kept THAT promise. Instead you have jackasses like Trump who complain about Illegals, then go home to pay their legal mexican Immigrant house keeper peanuts, because a god fearing American wouldnt take the job for as little as he is willing to pay.

Actually, I believe that blacks commit crime at a higher rate than whites because that is what the statistics prove. I can point to high rates of absent fathers because whites with absent fathers also have a high rate of crime. I can point to high crime cities and poverty, usually related to absent fathers. The statistic of longer sentences is also highly questionable because it does not take not account convictions of multiple crimes on the offense or what offense number this is.

You do realize that inscription and the statue was given to us by the French and has no validity to US law? We also allowed people into the country because we needed numbers at that time. We do not need numbers as the third largest nation on Earth in terms of numbers. Also, the Indians had no right to the land when they were here. They didn't settle it and were not a country. I am all for immigration, legally. People from other nations do not have the RIGHT to come here and live.

The inscription on the statue is not a promise from our government. I don't blame the ILLEGAL though. I blame the employer of ILLEGALS and feel they should be held responsible. In terms of salary, who cares what Trump is willing to pay. If there were not ILLEGALS willing to take the low pay, Trump would pay more (assuming he actually employs ILLEGALS). It is basic supply and demand. If there were fewer workers in the job market, salaries would go up. With more low wage willing workers, salaries are driven down.

IM going to ask three questions.

1. Would you or any one you know pick oranges for $15 a day for a ten hour shift??

2. Do you honestly think statistics can not and are not being manipulated? Because even if Blacks committed crimes at a higher rate, the fact that we only make up 17% of the population does not explain the disparity in prison population rates unless you seriously believe that we are predisposed to be criminals.

3. How in the FUCK can you say the Native Americans had no right to the land that they had been on for hundreds if not thousands of years before it was stolen from them?? Thats like saying, well unless you filed paper work for something YOU actually built, I can just come in and claim it as my own, because you didnt file the paper work. You realize how privileged majority entitlement mentality that sounds right??

Bonus nugget.... If I didnt actually mean to say my house is open to all, I would not put a sign out that says my house is open to all no matter WHO gave me the sign as a gift.

Side note, if you havent noticed, since the Illegal immigrant work force has been all but banned. The Majority stock holders and company owners have just resorted to off shoring their labor forces. So NO, it has not served to drive up minimum wage. Its just forced them to send american dollars to India, China and Mexico any way.

Easy fix to companies sending work to foreign countries, tax the imports.
