What happened to Bradley Roby playing Safety?

Who is the Broncos MVP on defense?

I think Talib has had a better season than Chris Harris.

When Peyton is healthy - I think the Broncos ought to have Peyton and Brock wrestle for the starting job - right after the coin toss.

I still think Randymon is from Austin or should be.

Not many people know this, but Cdumler has 18 fingers and two thumbs and that is why he is able to type so much.

Springstein is a closet Steelers fan (and in another closet he is a Bills fan).

I'm not ashamed to admit - I love Draft Crazy.

Haha it is closer to about 15 fingers. No my typing comes from going to a college that didn't believe in tests as much as writing a 10 page paper for every class at least once a week. I remember when I had to write my dissertation that was supposed to be around 100 pages long that I just laughed that people thought those were so hard to write. I think I knocked mine out in a week even with all the research needed to write it.

I think what happened to Roby playing safety is they loved what they saw in Darian Stewart. He has been that great hidden gem of the year. Elway always seems to find one that comes in and plays way beyond their contract. That meant there wasn't as much of a need for Roby at safety and we could keep him as that 3rd Corner. I still would love to see Roby play a little more of that type of role because I think his superior athleticism would allow for him to jump some routes.

MVP on the defense I would probably go Brandon Marshall. I know he doesn't always rack up a ton of stats beyond tackles but the guy just is a great all around player that I think has been huge in getting the defense perfectly in the right spot. When you throw in the pain he is playing through with that broken screw in his foot I am just amazed at what he is doing.

I'm torn on the Talib/Harris thing. On one hand Talib has been the bigger playmaker. On the other hand though I think Harris has been a bit more consistent. I have seen games that Talib just really gets turned around a few times giving up big plays. Harris while he hasn't been what he was last year has still game in and game out been very good. His one bad game though against Minnesota was tough to watch. Makes me nervous for when we play Pitt because they have similar receivers to that of Mike Wallace.

You also have to factor in Bruton actually started performing well in the Safety role also and not just as a special teamer. Bruton's play has been one of the surprises for the year for me.

I would be somewhat inclined to agree, but I would have to sit down and give a good hard think also on Malik and Wolfe too. Those two have been monsters all year (well, Wolfe after his suspension) and are just so disruptive that they allow everyone else to make plays.

There is good and bad Talib, he has cost us badly at times for stupid plays. To be honest, I would think about starting Kayvon and Roby for the Pitt game and playing Talib as a safety and CHJ as the slot guy. I am that worried about Brown and Bryant because those speed types do give us fits. Then you factor in Jones. Yeah, not at all happy about playing them with that WR lineup.

You are right the emergence of Bruton definitely has made it where the safety depth really kept us from needing to move a Corner to the position for help. Well that is until these last couple of weeks with all the injuries. I will say though I am excited to see what Josh Bush has to offer. I think he was in for 4 plays and had 4 tackles and a forced fumble in the last game.

It did take me a while to think of who our MVP is because honestly we could make an argument for so many of them. Before he was hurt D. Ware was having one of the best years of any defensive player. Unfortunately injury kind of through his great season out a bit. Wolfe I would say has been the biggest impact player over the last month but his suspension just takes him out of the running for me. Malik He just seems to disappear at times but when he is on he is almost unblockable. Von could be an easy choice for so many and PFF would probably say he is our best player on defense this year. So again on the defensive side of the ball so many guys maybe deserving of the title of MVP of our defense. To me though Marshall has been the guy that week in and week out does all the dirty work and I have just seen very few bad plays out of him. I think I can only think of 2 so far this year where I felt like he really screwed up. Once against the Vikings where AP went for his long touchdown and Marshall even admitted that he guessed the wrong hole. The other for some reason I can't remember who but they had a speedy RB that made a nice cut on a passing route to get wide open against him. Otherwise he always seems to be in position making a play for us.

As for the Pitt game I honestly do think they are the worst match up of any team in the league for our defense. We play so much man to man and are prone to give up those big plays and that is what Pitt loves. Our pass rush is going to have to be spot on for that game. Thankfully we are getting Ware back this week so that should help but all those guys are going to have to be going full throttle all game long if we are to stand a chance. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Roby get a shot at going against Brown then have safety help over the top. I would play him aggressively by jamming him at the line then like I said having the Corner know they can get beat deep because the help is there.

Solid thread

I think the issue with Roby is that he is a very good CB and we dont wanna stunt him at S for his growth at CB down the line for us.

Not sure who has had the better season Talib or Harris, but both have played really well. I thought there was one game they both struggled some this year (Colts game) and that was more the defensive plan. Why do we never play good vs the Colts????? Seems we always get out coached vs the Colts too.

MVP on D? That is tough. I guess I will go with Von due to the plays he makes and attention he gets.

I always say your DB's are only as good as your pass rush.

Ask Champ Bailey (who was outstanding for us) and Dre Bly :)

Imagine how good Champ would have been had we had a pass rush in Denver during his time.

I liked Bush to and hope he can stick to the team after this. His play against the Chargers is the epitome of production.

Another thing I expect Wade to do in the Pitt game is to go Zone heavy, which is what I think is half of the reason that we lost the Colts game. Wade tried to out think his opponent instead of doing what got us there in the first place. Hopefully he will not get scared and do it again in Pitt, but I do not put it past us. We always seem to try and out think a couple of teams each year and get beat because of it (JDR last year against the Colts).

If you got Netflix watch Slingshot .. It is about a man I think all people should shoot to be like .

He is the inventor of Ginger or Segway and countless medical devices .. He is such a great man after watching this he is now a hero of mine ... I love that he came to realize that company's and Corporation's and normal people need each other to solve the big problems in the world . If his water thing comes to fruition His lasting mark on this earth may be the biggest footprint ever I now love this man he is what all men should shoot for as a water mark in life .

I wonder if Stewart our S Watch's my post here ?

I kind of Explained how you beat NE in a Tinplate . He followed it to perfection ..

Stop worrying about everyone on NE team . Key on one feller(TE) let him catch the football blast him to the next Decade . Don't worry about the WR's ......If all teams followed this tinplate NE would be a 500 team at best ..

Why would you let one man run rough shod over a team is nuts .pound him legally into the dust . No cheap shit ! just clean hit them so hard they burp up blood .

Last two years I was whining because Chris Harris was underrated and not getting the love he deserved when talked about the top CB's in the league.

Now he is getting that love but if someone doesn't have him in their top 5 CB's they aint watching the same game we are fellas.

IMO you can make a strong and I mean VERY strong case for Chris Harris as a top 3 NFL CB if not the top. I've seen Sherman and Revis (as much as I like them) get beat more in the last two seasons then Chris Harris. Guy tackles well too. Hits well.

Quickest feet of any NFL CB in the game today.

Patrick Peterson is healthier this year and has played much better this year. Throw these guys in the top 4 and I wouldn't think you would be that far off to put Talib at the 5th or 6th slot. Based on this year probably have to throw Josh Norman in there too.

Two CB's who have had excellent seasons who deserve some love as rising is

Lions CB Darius Slay
Jaguars CB Davon House who never saw much of the field with Green Bay.

Marcus Peters will be the next in line to reach this hill. He is gonna be annoying for a good 10-12 years in Kansas City. If he doesn't choke his coach first.

Yup I have watched both of those Corners get caught in bad positions and giving up touchdowns. Chris Harris what has he done but go 2 complete seasons worth since the last touchdown he gave up. Throw in Harris is one of the few Corners that can dominate inside and outside. Heck so far his stats in the slot have still been the best in the NFL for the past 3 seasons now. He doesn't have the size, or the loud mouth, or the media propping up his name but not sure there is another Corner I would take in the NFL.

Also I agree on Darius Slay. On a better team that kid is talked about for All-Pro. No Corner in the NFL has been better over the last 8 or so games. He did struggle a bit at the beginning of the year but since then the kid has been lights out. Man I wanted him bad when he was in the draft. I remember in that 2013 draft wanting us to go Darius Slay in the 1st and Kawaan Short in the 2nd.

Not sure if it was in that interview or another this week but he did take a ton of blame for not helping out the OT's who were struggling. Said they should have made adjustments instead of just leaving those guys on an island and letting them continually get beat. So I did appreciate that he took responsibility for that.
