Thats exactly what I want to see- what he can do running the football with a starters workload.

Carey is done. Barring injuries to Langdford and Smith, and even then it seems they are done with this kid.

Ya, I liked the kid too. One of the sideline reporters said he is backing up Langford tonight, so who knows?


I know I read that he doesn't play special teams and that was part of his falling out of grace. But as short as they are at RB maybe Smith is strictly Special Teams?

Glad to see the bears get that win. Fun game to watch. JMO but the running backs didn't not do anything all that great. At the risk of pointing out what should be obvious, but in run game, the Bear O line (mostly) DESTROYED the San Diego d line. That was a mauling. I wasn't super impressed by the running back decisions or quickness. But the offensive line played great. Don't know how much of that was them versus one of the worst rush defenses in the league, but it was good to seem them totally dominate for once.

Lamarr Houston wasn't in much but he clearly was playing wih purpose an energy.

I have to give a lot of kudos to Gase tonight. The bear passing attack was very simple of short passing oriented (mostly), and tonight San Diego mostly had no answer for that. They simply are not fast enough, especially the linebackers.

Oh and I have to think Gase knew the San Diego defensive weakness from his time in denver. This week, it showed, because this was a game plan that worked. This is the first time I think we have seen the coaching clearly out-strategy the opponent. Pretty blatant.

I don't understand the smugness of always saying: "Should be obvious" ... The Rookie RB had an AMAZING first game as a featured back. And if that wasn't good decisions or quickness then I don't know what you think is.

If you want to write a post expressing how great you think the OLINE played... AWESOME!Go for it. You don't need to bash other players just because it's anti-popular opinion at the moment, that "Langford had a great game" and then state "should be obvious" as if we're all idiots, and you're king shit football poster.

I'm always pissing on things myself Joey. But 2 gallons of coffee in the mornings could be why. Maybe Cali has a coffee addiction too. Naw, Cali looks at the full picture and that is OK with me. We need realistic and homer and haters, so we get all the angles covered. I thought what Cali said was a fair and honest assessment. There are some questions that can't be answered until more games are played. I personally was happy with Langford as he did the little thing well. He ran hard, he caught passes, he picked up blitzes and blocked the right man. But you do have to consider it was against a bad team. Still great for us Bear fans. My advise to you Joey is enjoy all the different angles brought by different posters. It's all good and adds to the total knowledge. You and Cali are both good posters and Bear fans, I learn from both of you.

Boy you would not believe how worked up I used to get and how worked up I used to make other people over at the BSPN boards before they shut down. Not kidding there are still posters mad at me about shit said 5+ years ago. I'm just now getting to the point where some now talk to me again. Even other Bears fans. The one thing I learned is you can't change peoples minds by arguing. But if you show respect it comes back to you and you end up having better football conversations. Or I just got tired of always fighting with everyone. It's one of those two things.
