I can't remember the stat off the top of my head, but teams that sweep the CS don't fare very well in the World Series.

2007 Rockies
2012 tigers
2014 royals

all had very long layoffs.

all lost the series.

the difference between being the giants and being the mets is the giants made EASY plays and didn't have a CF playing soccer for 2 games in the series.

Interesting story, that guy got shot and robbed last year. He's OK and I think the team did something for him; tickets en sech.

I hate the outcome, but how could anyone call this a "meh" series?

It was pretty sloppy. Just like I chastise people for trying to say Game 6 in 2011 was a great game.

It was a hideous baseball game.

This was some ugly baseball by the Mets.

They lost the series more than anything.

I'm curious how this plays out over the off-season.

Relivers are gonna star getting paid more and more money.

I wonder how much defense will get paid compared to previous years.

between the royals and the giants there have been 3 real constants

1) strong defense
2) lights out bullpen
3) contact based offenses

I'll admit I thought they were done last year after Alex Godon jogged around the bases in game 7 like it was a spring training game (seriously, i think he ran harder to the mound after the last out than he did against the giants)

but Moore came up aces with his big FA signings. Volquez and Morales in particular.

madsen was a guy I wanted the Sox to get and he got him incredibly cheap. And chris young found one more good year in that creaky shoulder. Just a sick run.

Also shows what a big loss hochevar was last year. He was lights out too.

i'll be fascinated to see if they bring holland back on something like a 2/13 deal where it's 4 for rehab and 9 for for 2017 when h's back and fully healthy.

Already being reported that Holland is being non-tendered. They already have a contract similar to that with Kris Medlen.

Remains to be seen. I'd be very surprised if the Royals ever picked him back up, personally. They have other matters to attend to.
