Outlandish might be a tad strong. Over drama might be better. It`s not like he hasn`t seen her since they went to prison. He`s visited her a lot, your allowed contact right in beginning and then when they leave and he prob talks to her on phone many times a week. He knows when she gets out and theirs nothing he can do about it before that. His drops are def lack of concentration on those drops but I seriously doubt it has anything to do with Ma coming home. You guys should start a reality show. I know a lot of women would love all that potential drama.

He is just predicting it may give him an extra boost and joy in life..

I don't think anyone in football should need motivation to do well, but the truth is it is only human.

Well DC I disagree. Everyone needs motivation whether it`s in football or anything. Comes in all forms and reasons but I just don`t think as Mingo stated in OP that maybe his performance will be better once Mama gets out has anything to do with his drops. Don`t believe he would make an excuse like that either. Guy has to much character to put blame anywhere but on himself. I guess lack of concentration or just dropping balls has to have some special deep significance behind it these days. Now maybe if he was going to the pen after the season for 10 yrs or so, I could understand.

I was referring to football for motivation. Beating your opponent and getting paid should be your motivation.

I am just saying if John Doe says my team sucks and I say I am going to work harder because he claims my team sucks you shouldn't need that type of motivation to work hard to play well. Everyone is motivated for different reasons. I am just simply saying you should always be motivated if you play the game you love for whatever reason you're playing the game. I'm just simply saying you should already be motivated instead of seeking something to motivate you playing the game of football. It is a competitive sport.

In every day life of course. Motivation is much different. Sometimes it is hard to find something to motivate you.

I mean even if you hate football but are good at it I suppose one can say the money motivates them.

If you're are kicking rear end at your office job, factory job or whatever it might be you aren't really gonna make millions of dollars difference for your hard (rare anyway).

I am just saying if you can't find a way to be motivated in football you probably shouldn't be playing the game.

I'd say his mom getting out of a jail is a distraction - I don't know if it has affected his play, but I suspect - he is involved in finding her a place to live - medical care for her needs - lots of relatives maybe to talk to and when she gets out - DT will probably have a greater sense of well being with that taken care of. There has to be a lot of emotions involved in having your mother free for the first time in 15 years or so - and being her sole support.

It's an intangible, but I think an important factor.
