Anyways, with regards to stats that actually mean something, a decent argument could be made that he was the second best starter on the staff in the 2nd half. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with any of the other guys. That's a solid rotation. McHugh had a good enough season to earn a game 2 start.

Wins are not a great stat for pitchers: we all know this. But McHugh was one of the 3 best pitchers on the Astros this year(and last year) no matter how you slice it.

Ehh...I'm not a huge fan of WAR being the determining factor for every baseball-related argument that comes up. That said, everyone knows that McHugh is solid. How often do mediocre pitchers win 19 games?
