There are ethics rules against this kind of behavior in the FREE leagues.
The fact that it's a money league only makes it worse IMO.

This is on ESPN's Fair Play and Conduct rules link:

C: Impeding other owners

Certain transactions made solely to impede other owners is not allowed. Tanking games for the sole purpose of denying another player's chance to make the playoffs is against the rules. In particular, cycling through players in free agency to put them on waivers and make them unavailable to other teams in your league is strictly prohibited and is grounds for expulsion from the game.

In short, you won't win the money anyway.

I do think this is a dick move.

I have to admit though, I tanked once to keep a guy out of the playoffs in a basketball league. The guy was a total dick. He constantly talked trash and He made insulting comments for no reason at all and talked about how great he was.

Last week of he season, he was in seventh, my opponent was 6th and I was already in. I benched my entire team so that he could not overtake he player ahead of him. I knew it was wrong, but the guy was such an ass it was worth it.

Would you be interested in joining a CBS fantasy basketball league?

In some of my leagues, this kind of thing would be completely acceptable. Praised even.

I like being in a competitive league where you know that your opponents will do everything in their power to screw you over while staying within the rules. I'll take that any day over a league with people who aren't competitive and forget to set their lineups.

If this is on ESPN how is it possible. I thought ESPN changed it to where if you picked someone up and then dropped them right away, they were still available? I thought they called it the 24 hr rule. Meaning if you keep him for 24 hrs, then drop him he went to waivers.

Similar to a last place team using waivers to hang on to a player they drop at the last second and pick up another to only use once then get your dropped player back when waivers run again with the 1st waiver pick.

My first yr of fantasy, I had a trade offer that I told the guy to just leave the offer up so I could think about it. Sunday arrived and I accepted the trade(he forgot about it still being offered) right before games started and lineups locked. His roster was illegal because all the players he got were imported to his bench so he had empty starting lineup spots. It was eventually fixed by the commish but it was funny watching this dude cry over it. Pretty sure most fantasy sites make this not possible somehow.

yesterday, the guy I am playing forgot to start his defense at 12. So, at 12:05, I went and pickup and dropped all remaining Free Agent defenses to put them on the wavier so he couldn't add one.

Im currently winning by 2 points with Davante Adams to go and he is done

The real Dick is the asshole not managing his team he makes the league less fun for every other owner
