some good things about this team that we are forgetting about

i have heard a lot about how bad this team is but lets look at a few things

1) the defense is ranked 4th overall even after a so so performance vs the giants . how many of you though barry could do that ? this is without kerrigan doing much as a pass rusher and weaknesses at safety

2 ) trent williams has allowed a mere 3 hurries in 3 games same as , get this morgan moses . most feel williams is that good but moses is quite frankly astonishing

3) starting scherf and moses was a great coaching move and has improved the o/line

4) callahan has been a god send making even lavoua respectable and having stieger giving up a league high in pressures

4) jamison crowder simply attacks the football when its thrown to him . he should be our # 3 wr by at least next season

5) matt jones has shown to be a great pick in round 3

6) ktshoen jarrett appears to be a great pick in round 6

7) ross is a godsend as a returner

8) so far a healthy thompson is playing well and if we can get him open on some more wheel routes that we dont get penalized for we should have a viable weapon there

9) our new kicker seems to have solved some issues in our kicking game

10 ) robinson is pushing a pro bowl invite

so all isnt bad we are building

Hopkins looks great. He has solved the kicking problems. I think we should make the move to Crowder to the #3 or #2 with Jax out WR right now. He is faster than Grant and has better hands than Roberts. Why isn't Smith starting over Murphy yet? Murphy gives us nothing in the pass rush.

Definitely seeing some encouraging things on this team. Good to remember that.

As long as there is consistent improvement in play, I for one, will be satisfied.

I'm not going to use wins as the 'be all' measuring point this year, especially since even Scot says we may not win many this year.

I understand fans feeling discouraged tho. Hard to remember the positives after that awful example of play in the Giants game where execution, undisciplined play, TOs and miscues ruled the day.

Yes, but pretty sure Preston had less snaps last week and I know he had very few in week 1 where he is the lone player on our team to have a strip, sack recovery.

Interesting. Clearly the coaches are still seeing some deficiency in his game. Probably setting the edge against the run. There is no question he his a superior pass rusher.

Need to add the contributions of Reed to this list. Sure - he has made a bit too many mistakes. However - his receiving has been pretty awesome & could have been even better save for some errant throws. Most importantly - knock on wood - thus far he is healthy.

yes i should have but i wanted to focus on "lesser guys " but yes reed is balling

Morgan Moses is the guy flying under the radar. He is a huge improvement, especially in pass pro, over what we've had in the past.

I am not sure why Smith isn't getting the PT unless they don't believe he is a good run defender...which I think is highly overrated in today's game.

i think they are grooming smith slowly . he struggle early in OTAS but when the games starterd he showed a lot .

he will get those snaps if murphy cant get more pressure
