Who here really wants a winning season?

Well this die-hard, long time Washington Redskins fan is all in!… just like every season since 1972.

For those who are hoping for failure, may you choke on a buffalo chicken wing tomorrow and die never to be heard from again. That would be a WIN-WIN for all the real fans of the franchise.

What's the point in rooting for failure? That I don't get.

It's a mix of folks.

Griffin nut-huggers who think he's been wronged. Peeps who think Cuz's ceiling is leading the Skins to 7-9/8-8 thereby keeping the Skins mired in mediocrity as the'yll never be able to acquire a top tier QB in the draft.

Cousins haters or maybe Cousins non-believers is a more apt term.

Those that wanna see Gruden/Griffin/probably Cousins to 86ed from their current positions and then blow it all up and start over again.

Peeps that hate Dan Snyder more than they love the Redskins and wanna see Snyder twisting in the wind yet again.

After reading the article I came away with this impression, let's call it what it is Dysfunction Fatigue. Notice that in each case this malady was evident as the driving force behind their positions. Notice also their resolve to not support incompetence, while holding out hope that if the team/ organization hits rock bottom, improvement will result. There's great (DC sports) historical wisdom in that logic. Remember those Wizards/Bullets teams that year after year would field a team bad enough to garner middle round draft picks , but never good enough to contend for anything more than selecting 12th or 15th? Same logic. Unfortunately, for all of them, our football team is not as close to rock bottom as they believe. (Low attendance and bag heads).

I do have an answer for all of the folks who want to believe that Griffin is the worse thing that has happened to this franchise in recent years............ DAN SNYDER!!

I'm not a DC sports fan, Stymie. I could gives a nasty bloody fuck about any team in DC or the east coast for that matter except the Redskins. I can't say I blame Skins fans for feeling the way they do. Especially the under 30 crowd. I loved em both, but if your unsung Skin is Darrel Young or Jon Jansen I'm just sad for you. Cuz you've seen very little to nothin at all of when the Skins were a legit NFL team

OK, noted,....you're correct, the reference was to how deep the frustrations go here. Good point about the under 30 crowd, as for me, my clearest memories go back to Norm Snead in 1961-62, when he was supposed to be the next best thing since Sammy Baugh.

I became a fan in 72 when I was 10 years old and my father was stationed at Warner Robbins AFB in Warner Robbins, Georgia. Up to that point the only knowledge I had relating to football was playing a game we called Smear the Queer in which we used a football. One day I'm changing channels and there's this show on I'd never seen before. Some of the people in the show had silver helmets with a blue star....I wasn't feelin that at all. The other people though, they had on burgundy helmets with gold and white stripes down the middle and just about the coolest emblem/decal I had seen in my life up to that day and still to this day. The Warrior Chief emblem. It was love at first sight for me. It was already week 6 of the 72 season. By week 7 I was well versed in the rules of football and how to track stats etc.

Gruden's offenses have proven track record of success in the NFL. If the Skins can be more competent scoring touchdowns in the redzone, win the turnover margin we certainly have enough with the improved defensive personnel to win this game.

The Bob three stick loyalty club. Hell there was a Post article about just this occurrence. Personally I think any one that is hoping for the team to fail because they feel the team some how mistreated Griffin, I say you were never a Redskins fan to begin with.
