After a lopsided 38-3 loss to Notre Dame, Longhorns coach Charlie Strong demoted co-offensive coordinators Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline and named receivers coach Jay Norvell his new playcaller.

"We have to get this program on track," Strong said. "We have to do a better job of coaching. There's no reason for us to go out and perform at the level we've been performing. There's no reason at all."

Norvell is in his first season at Texas after a seven-year stint as an assistant at Oklahoma, including four seasons as the Sooners' co-offensive coordinator.

Strong needs to find him a QB regardless of who the offensive play callers are. Can't believe there is not someone better at Texas sitting on the bench.

First, perhaps he needs to recruit one. Not sure of that, but suspect we're gonna see Heard and soon. Is he the answer?

Let me ask you, how many QB's have the Horns auditioned since McCoy left? It's been an ugly parade.

As far the ND game, I'm not sure any QB would have had a stellar performance considering how poor the O-line looked. But that said, you could almost smell the fear/panic from Swoopes coming through the TV.

True their QBs have been pretty sad. And Strong's personality may make it hard to bring a QB on. He better get it going at UT soon or his head will be on a platter.
