here are some guys who might not be with us in 16

hatcher cost 8 mil , age 34 dead space 4.5 savings 4.2 mil

lavou cost 5 mil , age 28/9 dead space 2 mil savings 3 mil

roberts cost 5 mil age 28 and 1/2 dead space 2 mil , savings 3 mil

the above are allen specials cutting them gives us 8.5 dead space but 10 mil in savings

next is garcon cost 10.2 mil age 30 2.2 dead space savings 8 mil

golston age 33 0 on everything
D goldson age 32 cost 8 mil dead space 0 savings 8 mil

riley age 28 cost 5 mil , dead space 1.5 mil savings 4 mil

hall age 32 cost 5 mil dead space 1.6 mil savings 3.4 mil

morris age 26 0 on everything

stieger age 31 cost 4 mil , dead space 1.1 mil savings 2.9 mil

now you can restructure some of these guys however 6.4 is the dead space but you save 26. 3 mil

hayward is 32 and paukson is 29 so you can cut them as well and get some youth

all told the dead space would be 15 mil in dead space coming off in 17 and 36 mil in cap space getting rid of age and bloated contracts

Looks like we are essentially renting most of these guys for this season. I can't see doing new contracts on any of them except possibly Ammo and that depends upon what he's asking for. To a man their greatest value to this team in trade or use is this year. Next year we get nothing, so what would have served this team in the long run best was, repeat was the question SM faced early on. His answer turned out to be, renting them for the 2015 season. I would not have taken that approach especially in instances where seeking a trade would have bought in younger, less expensive talent or future draft picks.

None of us know what actually took place at Redskins Park (or their long term plan) so you really cannot accurately judge these moves. For all we know SM may have tried to trade some of these guys (or made other moves) yet there were no takers.

Again - no offense to anyone - but I will take the judgement of someone who was involved with the building of three very successful franchises over some random Internet posters. Bottom line - it doesn't matter how this looks now - what matters is how this team looks in 2-3 years, and I feel confident that this team will be in good shape by that time regardless of how this team is presently viewed.

I've got great news......this is a site where random internet posts are made!! Some of them based on what has actually happened to the team. Since you feel it best to take the judgement of "someone in the building" tell us which of the listed players and their contract status is NOT true. I'm pretty sure Dad wouldn't post them had he not done the research. Even if SM had tried to "trade some of these guys (or made other moves)" isn't it a fact that they are still on the roster? Further, since we are in the moment we tend to apply what is known now to contemporary conversation, not what we believe, hope, or wish to be the case in 2-3 years............no offense!

LOL. Did I claim to know any of this? Nope. Did I state that anyone here is not entitled to post anything or state their opinion? Nope. All I stated was that I value SM's judgment over that of anyone on this board (including my own). What is wrong with that? Jeez dude - calm down.

Rebuilding is not easy to take for most fans especially in the current social media world. I have faith that this will work out well & again you & others may know some things about the team, but you don't see the inner workings (even the reporters don't have this knowledge). I will just let this play out & leave the gloom and doom for everyone else.

HTTR - peace.

Actually you did......remember?...."it doesn't matter how this looks now-what matters is how this team looks in 2-3 years." Imagine a social media site where everyone says only that. Careful dude your passive-aggressiveness is showing.

?? Maybe I am not making myself clear. What I meant is that I don't claim to have the answers to any of what is required to make this team a success. However - I do trust people who have a proven track record of success. In this case that is SM, and until proven otherwise his opinion (to me) means more than any opinions I see in the media or in this forum - period.

Otherwise - think what you like - I could care less. Keep the discussion to sports & park the nonsense at the door. Have a good one.

Thanks - we need at least some optimism amongst all of the gloom and doom. I swear in the last few months folks almost try to make us feel guilty to be Redskins fans. Oh well - will make me even happier when good things occur & now more than ever convinces me that the Redskins should never, ever change the name.
