In the Steelers/Packers game today - Jordy Nelson and Markice Pouncey are both probably out for the season with injuries. Both of are devastating for each team, especially Nelson, one of the most clutch WR's in the game today. Pouncey is the anchor of the Steelers OL. If we don't lose any key players for the season, I think we can go very far, even in this re-vamped year for Chip.

It'll be a fascinating stat to see play out.

I saw somewhere recently a yearly list of least injured players and the Eagles were at the top.

That said, some injuries seem to have nothing to do with sports science, just plain bad luck. But many probably do.

Time will tell the tale.

Soft tissue (muscle) can be prevented by sports science. Other injuries (torn ligaments, broken bones) is much harder, though even there sports science can help to prevent injuries somewhat. However, when someone is rolled up from behind, or speared in the knees, there is little one can do about any ligaments failing...

The Packers are hoping that the MRI today will show that he might not miss the whole season, but it looks serious.
