I just don't see the point in not letting some edit their post. There are typos, updates to things such as rosters and rules for fantasy forums... Things change... I am guessing it is done to prevent someone from attacking someone then going back an hour later and editing it so the admin cannot see the post. But in reality if they delete it who cares? Or by that time someone has probably already saved it anyway.

@HammerDown any reason as to why we can't edit posts after 5 minutes? Just curious... It is a bit of a hold up right now.

Yes, very good reasons. :thumb: It's been that way since 2009 and isn't going to change.

I don't know. 5 mins seems like decent amount of time to proof read a post / edit for things such as typos anyway. I pretty much have to correct something every post:). I still haven't figured out half the posts the new blood is throwing down yet anyway.Edited or not. That is meant as friendly sarcasm. I'll figure you nuts out as the time progresses.:suds:

Yes - five minutes is enough. The problem DC is trying to solve is for the fantasy football team where in a single thread - owners can keep track of their rosters as they work the draft round by round - just something we were used to over at the over place - whatever it's name was.

The issue for DC is that we are starting a draft tomorrow that is a slow draft on the site. So let's say that Team A has a pick and in 6 hours has another selection. Now he's supposed to help out by updating the roster on his team's page (so when DC has to input all of it after the draft, each team has their roster). Currently can't do that unless you are a commissioner.

So it's really about an unusual situation, not the every day run of the mill posts. Hopes this helps explain why DC is figuring out what to do.

***Mingo obviously types faster than me!

Don't worry - we don't know what the heck we are saying either! But if you need clarification, pour a strong drink and ask LGM. That should brighten up your day! ;)

It's a 16 team league - but scoring isn't too crazy so we just use Yahoo (free) for our regular season once we have the draft in the forum.

Yeah like Mingo and SS said just tough for fantasy purposes. I believe Hammer made it available for some or maybe it was just certain forums like soul 12 and DCFFL...

It will be tough too when keep tracking of draft lists like who visited, and what not but that is minor. I suppose as long as soul 12 and DCFFL forums the settings are changed that is fine and I can deal with it. I know he did something with the settings in DCFFL. Hoping the same with soul 12. Not sure if it was certain posters he had to approve it for or just for those forums. Either way appreciate Hammer doing that and things should be ok. I just know that George had some issues in DCFFL editing a thread title, but I had one of the guys edit his roster and it seemed to work ok.

@HammerDown is that basically what you had to do? Give edit rights for those two fantasy forums or is it an individual basis?

Thanks again for everything... Just trying to get those things straight so I know what to expect.

Hey we'd love to have you but it was already full from before we moved over here.

I'm planning on playing in the league that Carl has going with members on this forum. I think you've said you were in it before? I think it's a good way to interact with forum members, especially this year as we're getting to know each other.

No prob SS. Kinda figured you guys were already all set. Yeah love to have as many as possible join in Cds. We only had 8 last yr ( we had a blast and Cd did great job as Commish) so would be awesome to add to that. The more, the more challenging.

Everyone in those forums can edit unlimited. @Nosferatu might help you understand how they do it in other forums. They do all sorts of mocks and drafts.
