He'll most likely come off the bench again seeing as that's one of his strengths. But it's a damn good deal for the Lakers.

Plan B seems to be quite solid. Not 'playoffs solid' but Williams is a guy that Russell and Clarkson can learn from.

Bringing in Joe Johnson would be incredibly stupid for Cleveland. They already have 3 ball dominant scorers (assuming Lebron stays). Those three are already having trouble playing with each other, so they decide to bring in another?

Johnson shoots pretty decent from 3. Lebron probably is thinking of making him into what Ray Allen was for the Heat; just spot up and run off screens

That's not what joe Johnson is though. Joe Johnson is a ball stopping scorer that likes running ISO plays and shooting contested threes. He's not a catch and shoot 3 and d guy. He will only create problems on the Cavs.

I don't see West signing with Cleveland, given the aforementioned log jam at the 4 with Love and Thompson. I said it before, he'll go to San Antonio as Duncan and Aldridge will likely have to rotate out at the 5 from time to time.

Well apparently West doesnt want to sign plus of the big log jam and 3 good bigs they have right now.

Apparently there are now rumors the Nets will trade Joe Johnson for the Haywood contract plus Anderson Varejeo.
Just dont see James letting Varajeo go, but he has to realize Varajeo is fragile. Just a rumor though.

Cleveland Cavaliers interested in Joe Johnson of Brooklyn Nets

You're right, that's basically what he's been. Just saying that's what his role would likely be if he ended up there. I think he's been around long enough to accommodate that if does go there.

Already having trouble? They went like 30-3 to finish the season and were just starting to gel. Johnson is aging and can be another scorer. He isnt the same player he used to be and he knows it. It wouldnt really hurt this team at all. Varajeo is hurt all the time, that is the only asset they would lose.

Kyrie wasnt a catch-and-shoot guy either when Lebron came. Seems like he did just fine last year lol. If you can shoot the ball, you can shoot it

I doubt James trades his closes friend on team when he can force Gilbert to resign JR if that's what it comes to.

I really want the Cavs to get West, if this is the way to do it then so be it.

LOVE the rumored deal of Haywood + Andy for JJ. Sounds too good to be true but really hope it happens.

Kills two birds with one stones all while saving money. Gets rid of the Andy contract and brings in a wing shooter. Andy is a nice player... but with Love, TT, and Moz... there's no need for him.

Johnson is perfect. He'll obviously be overpaid for his role on the Cavs... but there's only 1 year left on his contract... great news for next year's offseason. Joe Johnson is a 6'7" knock dead shooter. And his scoring ability wouldn't be wasted, either... they could use a playmaker when the 2nd unit is in.

Also... I don't think this means JR would walk. I think they would still keep JR. They are thin at guard/wing.

How the HELL are the Cavs affording more players?
Haywood and Varejao are both currently on the books at about $10 mill each.

They can trade them for comparable salary - before signing the guys with bird rights.

Haywood's value is that his contract isn't guaranteed so he can be immediately waived in a salary dumping move. Varejao is a good player whose contract suddenly doesn't seem so bad in light of all the recent contracts getting done.
