Well, if he's better then what you had, it's an upgrade.
Maybe the change of scenery does him some good?
It's one more 7 footer out of the EC. Sounds good to me..

yeah I hear ya. guess we'll see...

these days i'm more hoping for the youngsters to develop anyways. let's face it, they ARE our future and a lot's riding on them to get better...
in the meantime, BronBron driving the Cavs to the poor house seems to be some captivating drama...

We do know he turned down the 52 at the beginning of the year... which was clearly a bold move. We don't know what he has been offered and what's being negotiate currently as the early reports turned out to be completely wrong.

Let's just wait and see.

True, we don't know, but I never saw where the early reports were wrong, I just read it as he wanted more.

Maybe I'm wrong, and he wasn't offered 80?

IMO, your goal this season should be hoping your youth develops, find an ace or 2 in the hole, and make sure you're good enough to keep that next years draft pick.

Cavs are investing so much money, more then they have, in this core. This franchise hasn't been successful historically, but if this current investment fails with no titles, it'll kill the cavalier franchise.

I would not even call the Cavs the favorites to win it all this year or the next 5 years.
They might have an easier pathway by being in the east.

But, they are simply not as good as San Antonio, OKC, or Golden State right now.
Chances are that one of those 3, if not all 3, will have homecourt versus Cleveland.
And if Kevin Durant goes home to Washington, suddenly the much younger Wizards will be ruling the East.

But, that being said. The goal is to WIN.
The Cavaliers are going crazy and tossing out all semblance of responsible behavior in order to WIN.

They get tons of credit for going for it....no matter how insane the plan may be.
Lots of owners are lame and never do anything for their franchise being content to suck forever.

Yeah, I read an article this morning that has me feeling a little, but not much, better about getting Hibbert. I like that he will almost immediately be a better rim protector than we've had since Bynum first got hurt, that alone is a positive.

He was also an all-star twice and he was a big reason that the Pacers nearly knocked off the Heat in the playoffs a couple of seasons ago. The article mentioned that the whole team seemed to be negatively effected by that (they basically had put all of their hopes and dreams on that series). Then, when the Heat basically wrecked them the next season (it was 4-2, but the series was never in doubt), it seemed to take all of the wind out of the Pacers sails and Hibbert took most of the criticism.

With the Lakers, he gets an opportunity to get a fresh start in a new place without a lot of expectations. If it really is a case of a guy needing a fresh start, great for him and the Lakers. If it turns out that he's just done, then the Lakers let him walk after the season.

Hopefully the young guys show they can play and that will make the team more attractive. They would actually be able to go in to meetings talking about how good the kids are rather than how good they hope they'll be.

They are far from done in this FA. If they get some depth they will have more depth than the Spurs. Not sure what players are staying for the Spurs but we will have to wait and see. As far as starting lineups go, Spurs have an edge but who guards Love out of their starters. Matchups are interesting.

Yeah, I think Aldridge makes the Spurs the odds on favorite for next year. He is going to take a lot of weight off of Timmy's shoulders. As of now, I see the Spurs as the clear top team in the NBA and the Cavs, Thunder and GSW are fairly interchangeable as the 2nd best.

Fortunately for the Cavs, they just need to get to the finals which shouldn't be too much of an issue next year. I think they are still the clear favorites to come out of the east. If it's Spurs/Cavs in the finals, then I think the Spurs take it. If it's GSW or Thunder/Cavs, then I think it'll be a tossup.

Oh and in before shane and Wiggy start posting a bunch of nonsense about a Cavs dynasty en sech.

Have I ever guaranteed anything, that's what I thought.
The fact is, this FA is far from over. I think the Cavs are looking at West bc they know the fromtcourt has had some injury issues, especially Varajeo. Their fromtcourt would be the best in the NBA with him, and I mean depth. As far as the backcourt, I guess they are trusting Delly for now to handle the backup PG. he has proved himself he just can play 30-35 like he was. I am thinking they are trying to get a backup SF for Lebron in a trade and possible another small role guy at PG. Then bring back JR. Depending on who they get you could say they have the best depth in the East and even the entire NBA. We will wait and see. This year is title or bust for the Cavs, but lets not it isnt title or bust for the Spurs, Warriors, and maybe a few other teams out West. A lot of teams are stacking up, should be interesting.

*nonsense

Yeah, that's what I thought. The facts are the Cavs have done what they needed to do, establish a young core. Overpay? Yes, but those guys would have made their money and more elsewhere. They got bargains for Kyrie and Love actually. Get a couple more role players and they looking just fine. I might be a homer sometimes, but I look at the facts.
GS hasnt improved at all, yet other teams are improving. It would be hard to repeat what they did last year.

Since when is saying something is nonsense saying it's a guarantee?

I'm thinking you need to get a dictionary or thesaurus to help you understand werdz en sech.

Hey, Laker fans, what's your opinion on Wesley Johnson? Read on PeachTreeHoops that the Hawks are pursuing him to fill our hole at SF.

I've liked him. He's a bit inconsistent. Has some big games doesn't show up in others

Hey Demonjoe. Johnson is a decent bench player. He plays fairly good defense but is a streaky shooter on offense. Some nights you think he is the second coming of JR Smith. Other nights you'll think: "How did this guy get to be a starter". He has lots of potential but he just has never gotten over the hump. Maybe he'll do better in Atlanta.

Sounds like someone we could use. Hopefully, they can make him into a better play they did DeMarre. We only have two SFs on the payroll at the moment, so we really need some help.

Imo, his biggest issue is that he just isn't aggressive enough. He's a phenomenal athlete. He has speed, quickness, can jump out of the gym and has length.

However, as others have pointed out, he's very inconsistent. He also has a very frustrating habit of being in a position to just throw down a monster dunk on someone and get the basket and possibly a foul, or at least get fouled. Instead he would go for the layup, miss it and not even get fouled.

I don't mind Hibbert at all. Like others said, if he is close to the player he was a couple of seasons ago, then we try to resign him, but if he isn't, bye bye!

Sounds like he needs more developing then. He'll probably get plenty of playtime with the Hawks. Hell, he might even start.
