AJ Pierzynski caught another almost no-hitter today. 1 out away again

What the heck has happened to this guy? Was he really that miserable in Boston? Stunk up the joint and now look what he is doing

I think he is just hanging on with whomever will take him at this point. When he was in Boston and Texas he was trying to cherry pick a contender, and now I think he's just trying to keep job

True, I think he thought, "Hey, I can go here... get a ring, not do anything and retire or just collect a paycheck." That's exactly what he did in Boston!

Wasn't saying you were. All I was stating was although Banny may be a step slower than some of us might like at making changes, he does seem to be seeing the areas where change is needed and reacting appropriately, albeit deliberately.

Hear ya. And what a pleasant change this is for the Ranger fans.

I was really feeling uncomfortable with Banister about 3 weeks ago. Not panicking just uncomfortable. And he still does things which make little sense to me (see last nights challenge as an example). And maybe those kind of decisions aren't really his to begin with. But he doesn't seem to be an alarmist, first and foremost, and I'd think as a player, you'd appreciate this.

He honestly seems like a guy who is gonna give ya the straight skinny, no BS or lies, but you know you'll never get one in the back from him either.

I don't know what anyone else expects, but this would go a long way with me.

I am glad the Rangers are acknowledging what a great April Luke Tendler had.

Hickory, NC -The Texas Rangers have announced the club's monthly minor league award winners for April, with Hickory Crawdads outfielder Luke Tendler being honored as the Rangers Minor League Player of the Month.

Tendler, 23, batted .346 (27-78) with 11 doubles, a triple, 5 home runs, 10 RBI, 4 walks, and 18 runs over 20 games in April for the 'Dads. The outfielder led the South Atlantic League during the month in extra-base hits (17), doubles, and runs, while also ranking among the leaders in hits (2nd), batting average (4th), and home runs (T4th). Tendler was named the SAL Player of the Week for the first week of the season, before he finished the month with multiple hits in 5 of his final 8 contests, posting a .400 average (14-35) in that stretch. Overall, Tendler is batting .309 (42-136) with 12 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs, and 16 RBI in 35 games with the division-leading Crawdads. The Wilmington, North Carolina product was selected in the 29th round of the 2014 June Draft out of North Carolina A&T.

Former Crawdads Jerad Eickhoff (2012) and Cody Ege (2013) were honored by the Rangers as well, as Eickhoff was named the organization's Pitcher of the Month while Ege was tabbed as the Reliever of the Month. Triple-A Round Rock outfielder Jared Hoying was named the Rangers Defender of the Month.

I would agree with you on that summation.

I agree as there are some things that make me scratch my head but none of us will agree with the manager 100% of the time anyway. One thing I like and it is just a perception is he doesn't seem to care if he ruffles a few feathers.

So Klein is slated to pitch the 2nd game of the series, who disappears to make room for him? I think its safe to say Pegs is gone when Hamilton returns, so maybe cut bait now and then give the pitchers a couple more days to fight it out and then pick one when Hamilton returns?

I believe I read somewhere yesterday that Fujikawa has been let go.

I guess the FUJi move was for someone else because I see Klein still hasn't been added. I would think they would let a relief pitcher go back to the minors when Klein is brought in.

I figure when josh gets back, they're going to want to put him in the lineup pretty much straight away. When that happens, I hope DeShields moves to cf and not the bench. He's earned his playing time more than Martin for sure.

That's not relevant to the 25 man roster, which is at 25, and does NOT include Klein as of now and Fujikawa isn't on there either, so someone still would need to be let go or moved to make room for Klein tomorrow

Edit: I had started typing this earlier before and forgot to hit submit
