My team has Jamaal Charles... remember the 2012 Chiefs offense?

QB's drive the offenses- even mediocre QB's. The Bills offense will still be bleh so long as EJ Manuel is there.
I agree, thats why I said they need a QB now.

Guys, this is not surprising to any Eagles fan. Chip was visibly frustrated with Lesean McCoy, who seemed to think he was Barry Sanders part II and would dance and try to get a big run out of everything instead of hitting holes quickly and getting a good four yards. McCoy also had a large cap number, and Philly seems to be going on the warpath cutting vets who were making too much.

I thought there was a chance they would cut Shady outright if he didn't take a pay cut. Instead, they just dealt him for an ILB, which was a need position. My big issue with the trade is that Alonso is coming off a torn ACL. I hope they did their homework and are convinced he is going to be 100%.
This is actually a great trade by the Eagles, imo. A+ trade in my book.

McCoy has a HUGE cap hit. They could not keep him and sign Maclin amongst others.

The Eagles were actively looking to trade him before the cap number came due and crippled their roster flexibility.

If this is true, they get a nice young piece (at a position of dire need) instead of just picks.

I thought they might trade him for a couple 2nd rounders....but this seems like a decent result all things considered for them.

What is Rosenhaus going to do? Per Jason La Canfora, the Bills are bracing for him to demand a new contract or hold out.

Better get those long Johns Shady!

Absolutely spot on here. We cut a ton of salary and filled a much needed position. Love this trade. Again the Bills are great to deal with:) The Eagles will have around 50 million to spend on FA to fix the secondary and other areas. Maclin should get his long term deal completed. The draft will have plenty of RBs. If not, plenty will be available in FA.

I guess Doug Whaley is really wanting to be fired.

In general, if the Bills are involved in a trade, it's usually good for the Eagles. Jason Peters was a prime example.

They also totally fleeced the Bills last season, trading Bryce Brown to Buffalo for a conditional pick that wound up being a high fourth. This for a guy who was like the fourth string back behind Shady, Sproles and Chris Polk. I love me some Bills trades.

BTW, I am laughing on the floor reading that someone claimed Shady would lead a "ground and pound" attack. Have you seen the guy run? Elusive back for sure, elite skills in the open field, but he never pounded anyone in his life, he is a finesse runner.

CBS' Jason La Canfora reports new Bills RB LeSean McCoy is expected to "make noise about wanting an extension," and could even threaten to decline to report to training camp.

Per La Canfora, the Bills are "bracing for that already." A trade is a perfect time to angle for a new deal, but already due at least $6.9 million each of the next four seasons, Shady isn't going to get it. McCoy will likely/understandably be sour about the deal for some time, but he's going to work for one of the league's great salesmen in Rex Ryan. By the time camp rolls around, Shady should be hungry to prove he's still one of the game's best offensive players.

Yeah wait until the season starts and their offense is doing nothing eagle fans will be crying over McCoy. Bad trade. I agree they at least got a decent player but to trade Top 3 RB and someone that demands that much attention on offense its a BIG loss. Maybe Eagles sign Spiller now.

You let Jackson go last year...
You trade McCoy this year for a LB coming off a torn ACL...
You don't franchise tag Maclin...
You don't have a QB capable of running the gimmick offense...

It looks like Chip's attempt to make the Eagles completely irrelevant is almost complete.

As a Bills fan this was not expected. IIRC Alonzo was the leading tackler in 2013, playing pretty much every snap at MLB. Before his ACL injury, talk was he was going to be moved to OLB in the 4-3 the Bills were playing last season.

With the switch to 3-4, Alonzo would be playing ILB. Apparently the coaches reviewed 2014 game film and determined Nigel Bradham and Preston Brown graded well enough to make Kiko expendable.

As much as I liked Kiko during his rookie season, I wont miss him. The bills D was amazing last year and he didn't even play a down. This trade only makes the bills better and doesn't really hinder them.

Still think kiko will be good but it shows that the bills might be scared after 2 knee injuries. Best of luck on the eagles.

The move gives new Bills coach Rex Ryan a centerpiece for his "ground-and-pound" offense, ....

McCoy is obviously a very good player, but certainly not a "ground and pound" type back. Pretty surprising to me that Buffalo made this deal.
