nothing has changed for me . he still has a lot to learn in the pocket and in the mental aspect of the game .

so no , i wouldnt give him the extension

he would need to earn the job in TC

i would bring in bradford for real competition and dump mccoy

so no i would keep the anointing oil on the shelf

i am happy that the past few weeks he is looking better but i see 2 years before he is an effective pocket passer

Skinsdad... if giving him the extension meant we had to make other roster moves or cuts just to make it happen, I would agree with you. But in light of the numbers in play ($78 million in cap space in 2016 before the extension) And the idea that NONE of the QBs currently on roster are signed through 2016... I would at least have to consider it. Going into 2016 with the possibility of NO QB on roster is exactly how we got to the point where we are now. But as I said, personally i would hope they actually sign him semi long term on the cheap while his stock is down. That way we get the best of both worlds in this situation.

I just dont see Snyder and Allen giving up on him at this point. And bearing that in mind, I would rather sign him to a 4 year extension now while his over all stock is down, then shell out $16 million guaranteed for one year OR have him blow up next year and have us over the Barrel going into 2016.

Makes sense. There is only one problem with this plan. RG3 has to agree to a 4 year extension when his over all stock is down. I've made a pretty good living on reading people. I see no way in hell RG3 would agree to that. He truly believes he is an elite QB and just hasn't been used right by Gruden or Shanahan. He would rather play out his rookie contract and go FA then sign a contact that would not put him in elite category.

You could be right, but if his agent is smart he works a deal in such a way that RG3 looks elite and stays put. Because the flip side of the coin is, he holds out like Rak and gets injured next year. At which point he might be hard pressed to get a Colt Mccoy one year deal as a backup. Because I expect come March Rak is going to be wishing he had signed for a deal a little less than what he was asking.

Yeah, that was important. Gruden kept the play calling very simple. Almost too simple. Every first down was a stretch run right. Eagles knew what was coming and so did everyone else. We still have serious issues on 3rd down. Jordan Reed was almost non existent in this game. Not sure why, but I did notice that on many passing plays, we only sent out 3 receivers, keeping the TE in to block.

I believe that a lot of these issues are tied into the problems with this team as a whole. Most likely - if this team is too be successful they need to win by keeping the scores relatively low. I realize that they have the ultimate home run threat in Jackson, but I just don't see them constantly pulling out 37-35 type wins. This is where improvements on the O line & the defense could do wonders.

It would be great if they could always convert 3rd & long situations. However - what might be better is if they don't constantly put themselves in that position. This would most likely be dependent on having a better running game throughout the whole game & this would require better blocking & also not having to overcome deficits due to a poor defense. Both of these should be very correctable although it most likely will take more than one offseason.

This will be a very critical offseason for the FO, coaches & several of the players (most notably the QBs).
