Baylor is the champ. Done. End of story.

if the Committee wants to be a bitch, that's up to them.

For any thinking adult or even child: The winner of head to head is THE champ.

It is easier to change rules when they want things to follow an agenda, isn't it?

Actually an intelligent decision. Big12 is making it easier to get a team in. Commercials and slogans are interesting, but money really talks.

No games can end in a tie, so playing each other is in fact the best way to crown a champ. Baylor is the champ in your scenerio, since they actually beat TCU. Conf title games aren't really a good way to crown a champ, mizzou would be ranked 4th at best in the SEC west.

Who is talking about games?

I prefer having a game where the best teams from each division battle it out for a no question champ as opposed to "well A beat B who beat C who beat A so lets just say everyone is the champ".

"Another reason using a committee to pick teams rather than rewarding that win conference titles is a complete and utter fail."

The thing that gets me is not only is the slogan for the conference One True Champion, but you hear the fans of Big 12 teams bashing the way OTHER leagues do it. YET now that the 'wrong' team isn't going to be the champion due to head to head, "this is why conference champions shouldn't be guaranteed". Sooooo what you are saying is, the Big 12's champion regardless of playing all teams doesn't matter. Kind of funny is all since that is the biggest argument for the round robin format is to "know who is the best".

CCG format is not a no-questions champ.

hardly.

If a 5 loss team beats an undefeated team... there is a HUGE question as to which is the best team of that Conference... whoch IS what the Champ is supposed to represent.

bad logic, bro. ruhl badd.

teh 12-ish wouldn't be trying this crap if they required a team to win their conference to get in. Then the 12-ish would say what everyone else knows...Baylor is the champ if they win this weekend.

No I think it proves how stupid those who think the round robin format is so much better, which is all I've heard from Big 12 fans. Which I find very ironic since the Big 12 was bashing the Pac 10 and Big 10 once upon a time when they did't have championships.

Wisky beat Brasky in 2012 to be the conference champ. There is no "co-champ" crap, just a champ. If your question is who is the best, then I guess we need all Div1 teams to play each other every year :noidea:

Do you think the best team in any sport is always the one that wins the Championship? Hardly.

Not sure I agree with any of that. Biggest issue in larger formats is unbalanced schedules. Not hard to see the holes in that system. Every year it disadvantages some teams and gives others an advantage. Of course the Big 12's champ playing everyone matters, but money matters more. Big 12 will call 2 teams the conference champ, so the committee does not have to devalue one of the Big 12's contenders for the playoffs.

It is still a black eye on the committee if they select TCU. If they select TCU, just as I predicted last year, this system is a sham.

If they pick TCU, then TCu needs to send a massive fruit basket to Minny because they are the only reason they got the nod.

Its not a sham. It is just incomplete. Why I have always said the playoffs need to be larger.

TCU getting in over Baylor is equal to 2011 when Alabama made it in over Oklahoma State. It is on the same level.

Big XII was all over that commercial after they fired Charlie Weis from Kansas. They had his fat ass out and the new interim coach put in practically that same day!

I am not as adamant as you are on the subject. TCU has a higher strength of schedule. They played a game in Waco. TCU led for 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Had a 21 pt lead with liek 10 minutes to go. Not sure Baylor proved much superiority over TCU that day. After watching I thought TCU would win 6 out of 10 games against Baylor. I would give Baylor the edge, but it is not nearly as bad.

I still can't fathom how the voters have TCU ahead of Baylor. It's not like TCU played murder's row in non conf, they just lucked out that minny is good. Both teams played SMU, and THEY PLAYED EACH OTHER. I have already lost hope in this system, please dont expand to 8 teams, they'd just mess that up also.

Wow, Baylor owns so much square footage in people's brains:

Baylor wins a game, jimmies = rustled.
Baylor loses a game, jimmies, rustled jimmies everywhere.
Baylor wins a conference championship, rustled jimmies, coast to coast
Baylor shares a conference championship with a team they beat = the amount of jimmies rustled is too damn high
Baylor's coach appears in a commercial, prepare for the rustling of the jimmies
Baylor hires a PR firm, Let's get ready to RUSTLLLLLEEEE
Baylor wears a shiny new uniform, J's to the R
Baylor builds a new stadium and - you guessed it - slight rustling of the jimmies occurs
