It was worth giving up what they did to move up to get him and have a QB for the next 10 years?

Skins fans almost unilaterally told me I was a moron for saying not to move up for him, just wait for him to drop if they wanted him or take another QB.

NOW they can't wait to run him out of town for Kirk Cousins?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

CLASSIC Skins fan reactions.......their problems are sooooo much more than at QB

Seems a bit early to me to say "I told you so". He's beginning his third year after a very good rookie season in which he got hurt in the playoffs followed by a year in which he, along with the rest of his team, struggled.

I'm saying I told you so in that you shouldn't have moved up to get him.

I think he's the best QB you have.......but he isn't playing well right now, and a LOT of skins fans are talking about him like he's a complete bum. I mean the fans around where I live have completely turned on him.

Fans can be fickle......but I think Bob is wearing out his welcome in DC. If you live there you probably know a lot more about this than I do, it's just speculation from what I've seen so far from the fans I know

Not the smart fans. There is no QB controversy. Jeez. Griffin is our guy.

Can we please just wait for the actual season to start before judging where Griff is in his development...:L

Yes, he is going to have growing pains. The goal is to transition to a 'pocket passer', not be one over night. Preseason Game 3 was focusing on that skill, it is NOT a representation of everything one is going to see week 1 in Houston, IMO.

This Ain't gonna happen immediately. Patience will be required by the skins faithful. If this struggle continues during the season, then there MAY be a legitimate QB controversy, but at this point, plz.

We will probably see a hybrid of 2012 with some additions of plays that have him learning pocket presence.

I think that the jury is still out on that too. Always expensive to move up in the draft, but if Griffin is able to play at the high level suggested by his rookie season, even though he is now in the first year of a new system, it could still easily be worth having traded up to get him.

Exactly. Not enough time yet to determine anything.

We shall see. For the record, I think he's a good player.

But I see a lot of fans turning on him with a quickness.

That sadly, is quite true. Skins fans are tired of being patient...can't blame em really. Lotta them never saw the glory of the 80s...:L

That's no really too surprising, is it? Expectations were presumably high after his rookie season, followed by a disappointing season. Fans often overreact.

Please define "a lot of fans". Are we talking about a million? Hundred thousand? Ten thousand? Or is this just some of your buddies and a handful of lunatics who you hear on the radio or read on the web? I guarantee you that there is also a very large number of fans who are not jumping the gun & want to see what actually happens during the regular season (for both RG3 and the rest of the team).

When you say that the Redskins have a lot more problems - perhaps. However - have you tried looking at all of the issues for your own team? They are considerable. Most realistic Redskins fans are not dumb enough to assume a team coming off a 3-13 record is not going to have some problems. However - there have been upgrades at various positions that should at least get the team moving in the right direction.

As for a switch to Cousins - it is not as if that doesn't involve other risks (if it was a no-brainer the switch would have been made already). Cousins is not perfect & has a tendency to make mistakes in the regular season. His ceiling is also considerably lower than RG3 so you have to consider that as part of the process. If RG3 does very bad during the next month or so then I will be alright if they decide to switch QBs, but let's wait to see the actual results on the field in real games.

In the meantime - I have to laugh at a Cowboys fan ripping on another team - you know what they say about people in glass houses.

I'm a fan that will rip on ANYONE regardless of how my team is doing. Glass houses? Not quite......remind me again the last time Dallas was 3-13?

We may be bad......but we aren't anywhere near THAT bad. Neither team has done much, but Dallas has been a whole hell of a lot closer to success than the skins for what, 20 years now? I'll take our chances over yours all day every day.

As much as we needle each other, we're in the same boat. Meddling owners that don't know what they're doing is the core issue for both franchises. I think since Snyder has owned the team they average 5 wins a year........that's gawd awful, and mostly because of his bonehead hires and ridiculous FA signings. At least Jerry got that part right ONCE.

I think both our teams will be considerably better when ownership changes hands.

Lot closer recently - huh? Hmm - who won the NFC-E two years ago? I would also not discount the Skins doing better than the Cowboys this season - we will see. Great the Cowboys have not been 3-13 lately. They will just continue to be 8-8 or 7-9 for the next five years.

I would have agreed about Snyder several years ago but not at this time. I truly believe that Snyder is out of the mix for the most part as it relates to personnel decisions. Those fell to Shanahan before & now fall under Allen & Gruden. The Dallas situation is much different since Jones is your GM of record.

I would not hold my breath on either owner relinquishing control of their teams for a very long time. For the Redskins I am fine with that since (although Snyder has certainly done a lot of bad things in the past) as I referred to earlier he doesn't really run the show in terms of personnel.

Two years ago, congrats? Dallas was playing for the East championship in the final week last year, but without our starter.

As for the way Snyder has changed, what was the stat I heard the other day...in the last 6 years the Skins have been in last place 5 of the 6. There is certainly a fluke in those 6 years, but the conference champ ain't it. :boink:

Anybody QB who is taken #2 overall is pretty much infallible in fan's opinions a handful of seasons. That's just the way fans behave.
