I'm pulling for Favre to come back out of retirement.
Haha dang it got roped right into that. In all honesty this happening to the Rams at this point leaves them pretty screwed no matter what (really any team losing their #1 quarterback is pretty screwed). At this point bringing in a new guy is going to take a month to probably get them caught up on playbook and get down some of the timing with the WR's. Even then it will be very limited. That would also mean then taking snaps away from the guy who is going to start the first month to try and get the new guy up to speed.
At this point they probably are just better going with Shaun Hill or whoever the back up is. More than likely this injury means a losing season for the Rams. They still have quality players but being in the division they are and now without the Franchise Quarterback it just is pretty tough to compensate for those.
Tim Tebow lol. Just saying.
Fully agreed. Same with Sanchez. If the Rams would've wanted Sanchez, they should have gotten him over the offseason. Cousins is also worth a lot more to the Redskins than the Rams right now. He knows the Redskins system...better than RG3 even. Perfect backup/stop gap QB for them.
Rams need a desperate old veteran or they need to tank for a QB next season. What they really should've done was draft Bortles/Bridgewater last year but![]()
I was thinking that myself. He could be had cheap IMO and he has started some games already. Also his mobility could be a plus. Course if the Rams are smart, they'll wait to see if he gets cut.
Just spit firing here but heres some thoughts
Redskins-Cousins, however i heard john clayton say on the radio today, zero percent chance they trade him, and he may start at some point this season
Buccaneers- Glennon, he played well and got passed over
Pats- Mallet, after the performances hes had, cheap
Jets- Vick, why not?
Eagles- Sanchez, barkley, any of these
Browns-Manziel, they should to get rid of the headache lol
His mobility is really all he has going for him. He throws like a girl.
Yep - you have to careful picking up some of these "hidden gems" (e.g guys drafted late who many think are the next Brady or Wilson or backups who everyone is sure will be great if given the chance). You may get lucky but quite often you will fall short & might get into a pattern of going with these guys for a few years & then having to start all over again at the QB position. It is just very tough to find a very good QB.
The Rams offseason strategy for the past 2 years was to gamble on injury prone guys (Bradford, Long and Saffold) and Robinson was by most accounts BPA and insurance for Long and Saffold. What they failed to do was get insurance for Bradford but they upgraded their backup spot.I thought the Rams were out of their damn mind when they picked Smith at #2. WHY!? It was a deep O-Line class, Bradford is glass (we all know it), and Smith was not even the consensus #1 OT on lots of draft boards.
I still think the Rams draft was a huge failure. They could've grabbed Watkins or Bortles, and then snagged either O-Line or Safety with their other first rounder. Those were the biggest holes. Not an OT who soared up the boards last minute. Aaron Donald should be a beast and I love having a great DT rotation on my team, but he's not even listed as a starter atm...
Eh whatever. Rams fans continue to call me a homer, but taking an unbiased view... I would be PISSED as a Rams fan based on that draft. As a Hawks fan, I hated the Cards draft and what it meant for Seattle (meaning as a Cards fan I would've loved it).
