No one seems to be all that excited about starting a new one.

I know people are gonna criticize me, but I hope the Angels take care of business this weekend and sweep. I just have a strong hatred for the A's...... I want them to know what it feels like to be forced into a one game winner take all wild card. It would be funny to see their big Lester gamble fall flat on its face.

I don't know if everyone is, but I sure am. Pulling against your stated "favorite team" against a division rival b/c of your hatred of a 3rd team is way too diluted for me.

Don't like the A's for sure. But then again, the Angels have Josh and CJ so they ain't my favorite either.

I hear you it sounds crazy, but I guess the way I see it is that this team has nothing to play for and therefore, nothing to lose. A decent amount of the guys we see everyday probably won't even be on the team next year. They either be released, traded, or back in the minors. As for the A's and Angels, it's a lesser of two evils approach.

I can hear ya loud and clear on this one.

For me, I personally dislike them both equally; maybe a little more Angels.

Assuming every BP hand we currently have either resigns, or gets healthy, this is one crowded BP IMO.

Ogando, Feliz, Klein, Cotts, Baker, Mendez, Tolleson, West, Poreda, Ortiz, and maybe Scheppers/Ross. That's a lot of quality arms IMO.

Now for the starters, not so much.

I for one am not rooting for the Rangers to win games any longer. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy the rare victory here and there. I just know that winning games won't mean a damn thing for next year at this point. Losing them won't mean a thing either for a few years, but I would rather Texas get something out of sucking than them get hot and go 70-92. There is more benefit to the losing 100 games this year than there is to winning 70.

How does that help their chances? Wouldnt that hurt their chances?

Unless it was said sarcastically....

I actually respect what Oakland has done. Don't care for many of their players but take them all done when comparing to the Angels. The angels are a deep rooted hate

I've felt this way for about a month. It's a weird feeling. When they're winning a game I find myself wanting them to close it out. When they're losing I really don't care anymore. It's kind of nice not to have to ride the emotional roller coaster, but I still wish I was (if that makes sense).

And you're more than entitled to your own, personal "deep rooted hate."

The A's and Billy Beane.....A self righteous, smarter than you've ever dreamed about, egotistical prick. His team's have traditional been designed for the regular season, with little hope in the post IMO. Shitty park, shitty fans - what there are of them - and basically I say, fuck em.

The Angels.......They don't have a geographic clue where they're located, and have some of the most egotistical ass-wipes - Trout, Pujols, Hamilton and WILSON - of any team in baseball. So, basically I say, fuck em too; or is that two.

I'm not a nice person.

They should have this pick taken from them. They're more than likely going to end up with the #2 and #4 pick.

You would sing a different tune if the same thing, if for some reason our pick failed to sign this year,

I'm not condoning how Houston did what they did, but they found something about Aiken they didn't like and chose to low ball him,

Many teams would've done the same thing

We did it to ra dickey, took 90% of his signing bonus off the table after the discovery that he lacked a ucl

Difference Aiken is testing his options, Dickey didn't

I too know it is better for us to lose than it is to win. The only other time I have felt this way was when I was wanting Doug Radar to get fired. It is an odd feeling. I think the only exception would be when I am actually at the game the way I was last night. Even though I wanted the Rangers to win last night, I believe I had less hope for them to win than I have ever had when in attendance at a Ranger game. That includes dozens of games in the 70s and 80s that I went to too.

I can't recall now, but what happened to remedy the situation when we couldn't sign Purke?
