Not sure why everyone loves/loved Hoyer so much. 4 career starts and only one really good game. Knee injury..
JM has got to be the starter. He can do a lot more than Hoyer to help team win. Period. With that D and two decent RB's, he shouldn't have to do that much to win some games.
People aren't going to fill the seats with Hoyer at QB... They are just making it seem like they aren't completely handing him the job.

Exactly. And Hoyer's 28....if he was so good you would have to think he could have caught on with some team before last season.
But, it is the Browns.
Last year with the carousel of Hoyer, Weedon and Campbell the Browns ranked 11th in average attendance. The Dawg Pound is a hearty bunch, they'll come watch their Browns regardless.People aren't going to fill the seats with Hoyer at QB... That's my point exactly. They sold out as pre season game in advance. The jerseys are through the roof, just from a business stand point (and let's not forget, it is a business) the Browns would be ridiculously stupid not to let him start!
I do not know how good Manziel will be, but you guys are seriously underestimating Hoyer.
This is not just some random back up QB. He has learned playing behind some of the best in the game, and what he lacks in talent he makes up for in decision making and poise. Those two attributes are the most important for QB success in the NFL. I don't care how much talent you have, if you make poor decisions you are going to suck.
Manziel certainly has more talent, but I watched two of Hoyer's games last year and I gaurantee that Brian Hoyer is better than at least 10 current NFL starters, maybe a lot more.
The only question is whether or not he is better than Manziel. I suspect that he is, at least right now, but that the hype surrounding Johnny Football is going to sway management if it is even close.
I don't like Manziel. How can someone party and miss practice and play well?
See Favre, Brett
Another guy who didn't play as a rookie. . In part because he was an immature arrogant prick. The team that drafted him couldn't even wait to get rid of him. Nice piece of evidence to bring to the table when talking about why Manziel should start.
