Sounds like something done in the off season not around now if that ever happens. Maybe something with Soria.

They are to get this home run derby in?

If they don't get it started soon it may be going on until 2 am

To clarify as weakly as I possibly can the mistakes are not just physical but mental. There are those I see as never really having the impact that the organization thinks they will. I knew many would include EA and I really go back and forth on him. My biggest concern and I may be way off base on this but he may not be a good role model for Odor, Profar, and Sardinas. I like guys like Beltre and Pudge who enjoy playing the game and have fun but make no question about their intensity and focus to succeed. For some reason I don't get that feeling from Andrus. I am also not seeing any improvement from Martin and Moreland. Martin just does not seem to learn from issues. It's like his baseball IQ is missing. And Moreland just does nothing for me as our DH. I know if they were supplemental players to a strong team around them then they would be okay.

DT is correct in saying we are not talking about tanking. We stink now. We have to take care of ourselves. Who cares what those other teams think. We may actually end up putting out a better product. I mean how can Gallo at 1st for a month be considered tanking compare to playing Pena or Rosales there. It may be an upgrade.

From Wastin............To clarify as weakly as I possibly can the mistakes are not just physical but mental. It's ironic to me you bring up Elvis in this light b/c a buddy and I were discussing this very thing over the weekend. It gets old to me to hear EA talking about having fun, but playing with his head up his ass. I always thought it was more fun to have fun winning than losing and he doesn't seem to care one way or the other as long as "he's having fun."

I agree with ya on Martin. And it's disappointing, although I've not given up on him at all. A lot of talent there. Just hope someone can get through to him about playing the game the way it should be played, night in and out. From what I've read/heard about him, he's actually a pretty good guy and decent student. But when the lights come on and the real contest begins he immediately forgets all he's learned and reverts back to being nothing more than an instinctive/reactionary player.

Also agree on MM. I've defined and supported this guy as long as I could. Done, done, done, done.

Yeah Donaldson I would like to see Martin turn the corner. I like the person himself but you can't help wonder what's going on up in his head.

I actually was ready to see Mitch go before last year but once he stayed I decided of course to root for him. Then I wanted him gone again and again decided to root for him. So I am definitely with you on being done. Now again I like the guy. But adios.

MM had a lot of supporters at the beginning of the season. I think most of the people on this board were smart enough to know he was going suck, but supported him based on blind optimism.

Just listened to it. Glad Bacsik had some of the same thoughts we all do.
Interesting part about Kinsler's 'wave'. JD wanted more Ranger outrage. Not sure about JD's analysis of Martin. Expects he's just slower to come around than most. Hope he's right about that. Not sure he's given up on Moreland. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back.

I'm tellin you. I totally wouldnt be upset if they all came back after the all star break and got 5 positive tests. Key word there, positive. So I mean, from that standpoint, its already better than this season.

At least they tried

What he said about the Kinsler wave was interesting. Felt like we had no pulse in doing something in return. He also did not come right out and specifically say he did not lowball Cruz. He had some other valid reasons but he mentioned the initial 14 mill which he said just about everyone declines and that he made a 2 year offer but did not go into specifics on that. He also stated he felt we needed 2 starters. Maybe one at the deadline and one in the off season.

I like to think of myself as a loyal fan, but a realistic one as well.

As far as and being "smart enough" and "expecting" MM to fail, I flunked that course for damn sure though.

Moreland has had his successful moments. But once he gets hurt - which is yearly it seems - when he comes back it seems he needs to rehab in Myrtle Beach for a month before going to Frisco, before checking back in with the big club. And again, I'm all for parting ways with Mitch for 2015.

On the Cruz front, I'm wondering if there wasn't some David Murphy thought pattern going on here. Meaning: He felt a change of venue was what he needed most to resurrect his career, just like Murph. I understand the Rangers didn't want David back, but the change of scenery may have been in both players long term best interest.

Just my speculation.

Me too!

This site was mixed on how to handle the Kinsler situation. But I was on the side of drilling his ass next AB and I mean hard. Fuck it. You wanna charge the mound, charge on butt breath and let's see who's standing when the dust has settled.

Sorry, went a little too old school there. :yahoo:

But seriously, it really took me back that Colby didn't take the reins on this one. Very surprised and little disappointed too.

I love the peanut gallery at ESPN. They demand we trade players like Beltre to rebuild, so when I ask which specific prospects to target I get zero coherent responses back. If you want to rebuild, then shouldn't you have a cursory knowledge of the available market? Simply stating that "we aren't going to contend in 2015 anyway" is not a good enough reason to trade Adrian Beltre. Oh and then my favorite is the Jerry Jones comparisons. As if the Rangers are run anything like the Cowboys. If they were JD would have resigned every player for well over their value. But guys like Larry Carvell will continue to whine about them not being kept, so I ask again, how is that like Jerry Jones?
