I agree that the male versus male sexual companionship is un-natural in the eyes of most. I don't understand either side of the coin, female & female or male & male but is it my right to choose their path? God loves all creatures and thus I understand and want to accept that my view is not the only one that exists. I don't care but I don't want it flaunted at me either. The ESPN view I saw after Sam was selected was something that was none of my business, so I turned it off.

As for any influence it may have in the locker room, I don't think that will be a problem in the NFL. Just like the Tim Tebow thing, people turn it off and any over the top remarks by Sam in the locker room will just find him a door out of Rams camp.

Cannibalism is also different in that it is often dependent on lack of abundant food, or in the human world, seen as a way to denigrate enemies and/or ritualized as a religious event. Gays aren't "turning" to homosexuality for survival/warfare/or religious reasons; they are born that way (whether you believe in a creator or simply an act of nature).

One of our best TEs was gay and the entire team suspected it. A select few were quite sure of it. Redskins locker room was very forward thinking and tolerant, given the times. All they cared about was the quality of play and Jerry Smith produced like crazy. Of course, the media was NOTHING like it is today and Jerry was heavily in the closet and never confirmed anything while playing, so the situation is different. He was also a proven NFL football baller.

True, also had David Kopay and Roy Simmons. It was known that the redskins locker room only cared about how a person performed on the field and didn't care about the bedroom. Again, there wasn't the intrusiveness on personal lives by the media that exist today. The DC media stayed away from delving into those issues then. It was a different time. No one cared to make a scandal regarding off the field lives as long as there was good play on Sunday.
