Oops. It appears it isn't just jerseys. The list includes pictures, bobbleheads and other types of merchandise.

Doesn't surprise me. Kaep and Wilson are young explosive players and Wilson just came off an SBOWL win and appears to have a highly successful future considering he's playing behind a mediocre O-Line marred by injuries every season with barely any help at WR that most teams have (Brady is prob. the only other one - obviously Percy H. was out).

If this was based on the same data that came out about a month ago then it was for the period of one year from april 2013 through the end of march 2014 which means very little of it was after the SB. Seattle's fans all over the world have been buying up team merchandise at a record rate over that entire span. Unless they come out really flat and lose some early games I'd expect that trend to keep going.

Nope, they were all bought post February. Just kidding. We don't know when things were bought, but it would have been hard to catch up late, even with the SB.

List looks the same as the one that came out back then so I was kind of assuming it was from the same data released by the league.

Wasn't Tebow at the top of the list a few years back? Not sure about Forbes' list, but I know he had the top selling jersey in the NFL for a year or 2.

Since a majority of fans are just the casual fan they are going to buy the "Popular" product that is on the market. Since Seattle was the talk of the town for the last year it doesn't surprise me that Wilson is at the top of this list. Throw in he is a new jersey where guys like Manning and Brady most of their fans already have memorabilia of them so their sales already peaked a while ago compared to Wilson who is just hitting his peak in popularity.

Throw in pretty sure I have heard that a majority of people buying Wilson products have been that of the female persuasion. With women becoming more and more a part of football it makes sense that they would latch on to the young (now recently single) good-looking quarterback. Plus he seems like a nice guy (still wondering what brought about this divorce as it could change a lot of opinions on that whole nice guy idea).

This is a good point. I would add that when people shell out a couple hundy for a jersey they want the guy to be around for a while. If I was on the fence between Manning or Wilson for which jersey to buy I'd go with the guy who might play another 15 years compared to the guy who could retire in 1 year.

I would too. The only time I am willing to dish out for an older player is if they have been with the team for years and are looking like a HOF type player. Given though usually by that point I already have their jersey anyway so the point becomes moot but still that would be the only reason. I actually did not buy a Manning jersey when he joined the Broncos as I view him as a rental player. I am appreciative of what he has done for the team and the fact that the Broncos are in the Super Bowl conversation largely because of him being on the team but I think most would still view him as a Colt for his career. I think a lot of Bronco fans have that same mindset towards him.
