Hey now, he almost finished in the top 30 for pass completion percentage (31st) and passing yards per game (32nd). Not too shabby for someone with mild mental retardation.

FootballOutsiders actually has Kaepernick as a better passer and a worse runner than Wilson. I still think we have a couple of years before we fully peg Kaepernick, RG3 and Cam Newton. I suspect that 2 of them will be top 10 QBs and one will fall off

His YPA was good. His total yards is mainly a product of low attempts, but of course, a low percentage hurts it. Assuming the deep completions remain, a higher short to intermediate percentage would increase YPA, completion percentage, and yards per game.

8. Ben Roethlisberger

Now this wouldn't be my actual top 10 list of quarterbacks. These would just be the top 10 quarterbacks according to how much they are going to impact their team this next season. There are guys I would rank ahead of certain guys on this list in actual playing ability from the quarterback position but they are not asked to do as much.

Yea I'm failing to see why people are rating him in the top 10... He was absolutely terrible last season. 31st in completion percentage & 32nd in passing yards? Don't even try to give me that "nobody to throw to" bullshit.

I would only say Manning has 1 more weapon than Rodgers at this point in time. Stats aside, Cobb & Nelson are better WR's than D. Thomas & Welker... Both lost a reliable WR in Decker & Jones. Emmanuel sanders is about the same as Boykin, maybe a little better. The only difference is Peyton has a TE threat to throw to. But as we all know, Rodgers makes a star out of just about anyone he throws to.

WR wise I would say the Broncos have an edge mostly because D. Thomas is just a physical freak. The TE position is what put the Broncos over the top weapon wise though for me. Throw in I would bet most would agree the Broncos have the better OL of the two teams which makes a huge difference. Manning was sacked a league low last year while missing his All-Pro LT most of the season. So getting him back should make it that much harder to get to Manning.

Now do I actually think Manning is better than Rodgers...Honestly I would take Rodgers right now straight up for Manning. They are close but Rodgers with his youth and actual ability to use his legs to make a few plays gives him the edge to me in actual all-around quarterback ability. Again it comes down to weapons around each of them and to me Manning has enough more around him to make the difference.

Brady - dude does it all with no WR help
P Manning - would be no 1 but age is issue
Rodgers - still in prime
Brees - most accurate QB
Luck - 3rd year, best of 2nd tier
Romo - very underrated
Cutler - possibly has best WR tandem
Wilson - great leader
Roethlisberger - intangibles get him this high
Rivers - very serviceable

With 10 ballots entered.

Those crying about the polls will notice Wilson is 7th in this one and the top 4 is likely more or less how most would have them.

Maybe having people not be anonymous here helps? :noidea:

Ben would move up if more of the steeler fans put a ballot in and wilson likely will climb if more seahawk fans respond, but nothing is terribly outrageous about any of the averages as of now.

BTW, thanks for this thread. I used this list on who to put as options for one of the polls I did on my resident board.

You know... I can't believe I'm saying this but I recently read an article saying that he scored a 38 on the wonderlic. A 38, with a score that high, he cant be that retarded, right?
