One down and one more to go this off season, or they just won't worry about it knowing they have their franchise tag in their back pocket if Sherman and his agent want to play hard ball into next off season.
I'm curious as to whom the Hawks' fans (or others) view as more valuable, Sherman or Thomas. Thoughts? Despite conventional wisdom about CB vs. FS, I think I'd lean toward Thomas.
Tough call. Thomas covers a lot of ground and allows gives our corners a big safety blanket that he'll be there if they get beat.
On the other hand, Thomas rarely has to help out on Sherman's side because Sherman pretty much locks down that side of the field without any help.
Some QB's won't even throw Sherman's way so I'm kind of leaning towards him, but I could easily be convinced that Thomas is more valuable.
How's that for a non-answer?

Thomas is considered the best defender on the team and the defenses most valuable player by almost all fans and pundits.
Sherman is one of the best cover corners in the game and really no one we would rather have out there, but Thomas is the engine for the entire defense and is involved in both the running and passing defense.

Not sure if that is a 'steal'. ET now is the first Safety to break the double digit millions/yr barrier. I mean they didn't get raped, but ET certainly is being well paid.
IMO ET could very easily get 14-15 Per year on the open market. Remember he's still JUST 24 years old...... He hasn't even hit his prime!
Think about it, a 10 mil a yr safety, gotta sign Sherman at CB for top money that is 16+ per yr and Wilson is gonna require a new contract of 100 mil +, so here comes the cap scissors.....And the cutting begins, Pete did good his 4th time around, we'll see if he can do it again or not.....When you have 3 huge contracts on your team, some positions will have to suffer, it's just the cap way..![]()
