It's tough for any team to win a SB. 1,2,3 and 5 are things that every good team deals with. Reigning champs are not at some kind of disadvantage to any other team.

My bad, 1, 2, 4 and 5.

My prediction is the same it has been for the past 4 years; it will be San Fran and New England. It's come close to happening but just didn't. It's nauseating to think how close the Niners have come to being in 3 straight Super Bowls. Such is life I guess.

I predict that it will be one team from the NFC and one team from the AFC in the SB.Hope this helps.

OP was who is the early favorite, on paper, I would say it is clearly Denver. They have added some impact defenders, and playing in the AFC gives them a much easier road. Everyone is so good in the NFC, it's hard to pick a clear favorite to come out. For everyone wanting to say Seattle, as strong as their division is, it wouldn't be a total shock if they didn't even make the playoffs

In the AFC, I think the Broncos and Pats are the obvious favorites. In the NFC, the Seahawks and Niners.

I admit I haven't looked at all of the top NFC teams schedules, but the NFCW playing the AFCW has to leave a team in one of the other 3 divisions with an easier path to HFA throughout.

I know HFA isn't a slam dunk, but it's going to be hard for any NFCW team to win more than 11.

Whoever has the least path of resistance has to be considered a front runner at this very early date.

Why? After Denver is mediocre.

3 of 4 teams were in the playoffs last year. Go ahead and tell me any other division in the AFC would give an easier road to the playoffs. The north is garbage right now and shouldn't have had any team in the playoffs. South? Please. Colts are good but the rest aren't. East? Pats and then maybe an average dolphins.

When you look at what division you want to see in terms of win potential I'm sure everyone in the NFC would have AFC west last. Having the Raiders on there just doesn't make it an easy road.

I'm saying no division in either conference is a particularly terrible matchup. The NFC west has the niners and Seahawks, but no one else has two teams that should be an issue to a top contender.

Every win/loss matters when it comes to HFA. Does NE still lose on their own turf last season?

Seattle needed a last second pass defense by Sherman to secure their trip to the SB and that was at home. Do they make it if SF had HFA? Probably not.

We aren't talking about adding another 3-4 losses, but even 1 can change the tide of the post season. I'd rather face any of the other divisions when it comes to that.

Yeah, they absolutely do. That team had no gas left in the tank and lost to a better team.

If you lose to KC, or SD, you would be just as likely to drop a game versus pretty much any other division. Neither team is a team that should pose much of a threat to a legitimate contender. Every team has off weeks, and every team will have a loss or two to an inferior team. But KC's not particularly more likely to drop you than Baltimore is.

We aren't comparing KC to Baltimore. The colts would be comparable to the broncos in this case as both are the leaders of their division. Compare KC to the Titans in this case as they were second in that conference. Who is more likely to upset your team: KC or Tennessee? Enough said.

And you of course passed over the question of Seattle vs SF last playoffs. There was 1 game separating them. If Seattle dropped another game somewhere Seattle probably loses to SF in their house and Manning is SB MVP. Every game matters.

That's arguably the worst division in football though. KC or Miami/Baltimore/Dallas/Chicago/NO?

There's not a huge difference.

Of course every game matters. But the AFC West isn't scarier than most other divisions.
