In terms of NFL talent alone, absolutely. But in terms of on the field play makers, you can't deny there will be very few like Mathieu to ever touch a college football field. Kid was a ball hawk, I have never seen anything like it. If he stays clean LSU had a legit chance at a return trip to the national title in 2012.

I don't think Mathieu was all that honestly. He was too short and he was exposed badly in that 2011 NCG.

But I guess it depends on how much credit you give him for what you said, being a ball hawk. He made a bunch of big time plays that year, but it was like the ball jumped into his hands. It seemed to be a bit of luck on most of them, but I don't know. Some of it has to be him being in the right places, so how do you judge that?

But as a CB, I felt his height was too much of a weakness.

I would be surprised if he is not playing this fall. "indefinitely" tag gets used a lot. Rarely are kids thrown off the team. This gives the coach the chance to walk up to the podium and say, "DBG did a great job this summer. HE did everything we asked him to do and we are so proud of how much he has grown as a man. We look forward to welcoming him back for the XXX game".. I would add "arent I a hard ass? I banned him from summer workouts in 90 degree heat and it reformed him just in time to win a conference game"

Pretty much this. He may end up getting kicked off the team still, but right now it seems to be in a - don't fuck up anymore kid or you are out of here situation.

Kind of like your mom counting to 3 and saying "2 and a half".

Trust me, I know he wasn't that great in terms of lock down corner. The truth is go back to 2011 and look at how many yards LSU gave up in some games. They gave up yards, but thats not an issue when you have a guy like Mathieu getting 8 interceptions, forcing 7 or so fumbles, returning punts for touchdowns, and scoring defensive touchdowns. If he plays the whole year and didn't get suspended, I think he could/should have had a claim as a realistic candidate for the Heisman. If Mathieu didn't get it, it will be a LONG time before a defensive player wins it.

Side note: the Heisman is a sham, there should be a defensive equivalent award. If you aren't a quarterback you have no chance. It is about the best player on the best team instead of who the best player is. Or who can pad up the most stats against pansy teams. /end of rant

I think Green-Beckham could be the best WR in college football this year. Even if this goes as far as him needing to leave Mizou, which may happen, he could easily transfer to an FCS school or go the JUCO route and still make the big bucks.

I think Laquon Treadwell is just as good at Ole Miss.

The name honestly is not ringing a bell, I'll take a gander at some film. Nkemdici or however you spell it will be a beast too. Ole Miss behind Huge Freeze is making some headway. Only team I feel in the West that is road kill on the side of the road is Mullens and the Bulldogs.

They are still banned substances on campus anyway. So I'm pretty positive they will still enforce the rules. How harshly is entirely up to the Athletic Department.

The thing about possession in those states will be not having to worry about being caught by outside sources. A pound is still going to matter, but all these small amount busts that get them in trouble will go away.

The Heisman vote is extremely regional. Mathieu and Richardson prevented each other from winning.

I personally don't even care about that dumb trophy. I felt good for Ingram when he won it, but largely don't even care.

There are some saying the best WR in the SEC is going to start for Auburn this year. There was talk if Dahquille entered the draft out of JUCO he would get a 1st round look.

Don't buy into the hype. Watched this kid first hand, he is softer than wet toilet paper.

Plays WR, not sure that is a huge factor in his ability. I would still have DBG. His physical talent is above everyone else. I am surprised D'hquille chose Auburn. Not exactly a WR friendly system in place for next yr.

Misery, much like Iowa, can't do simple things like keep their players from dealing felony amounts of illegal substances.

Mizzou, like Iowa, can't do simple things like keep their players on the straight and narrow.
Nebraska, on the other hand, just keeps thugs like Suh looking clean until they leave. We arrest everyone here

The biggest game of his career in high school he sat on the sidelines getting IV's and playing the cramps card. Sat out for half of the game due to cramps. He is athletic, but it doesn't make a difference when you can't stay on he field because you have cramps.

Treadwell did have an NFL guy to help him. Enigmatic NFL guy, but a clear NFL talent in Moncrief.

I am not counting them out yet. They are completely changing their identity. I give them another 2 years before calling Bielema a bust.
