I think the best memories for me as a Duck fan was the first couple years I had my own tix for games.

My favorite Duck is QB Tony Graziani. By no means was he a world beater or the best. What he did have is a huge heart and a desire to win that outweighed his God given ability. He was @ Oregon in the mid 90s, wore #10, and I loved how he could scramble when the pocket broke down. He was a lefty too which was pretty cool.

Every one of my buddies knows that when it comes to Graz, he is my favorite DUck of all time... By no means the best. But that isn't why I follow CFB or cheer for a certain player.

He also threw 99 touchdown passes for the Los Angeles Avengers in 2004!!

Have to be Earl Campbell. He played in the first UT football game I attended(1976). It was eye opening. I even followed Houston when he played for them.

My three are Earl Campbell, Lee Roy Selmon and Joe Washington. Earl only beat OU 1 time but he was playing against OU teams that were better than Texas.....until his senior year when he single handedly beat #2 Oklahoma. I knew a lot of guys on the OU team that year and they couldn't praise The Tyler Rose enough after that game. Lee Roy Selmon would shed blockers like a Panzer division going straight through a French regiment. And Joe Washington was the most electrifying ball carrier I have ever seen. He did things in mid-air no other runner has ever been able to do.

Awesome to see so much old school in this thread, and yes The Tyler Rose was pure badass. Made me an Oiler fan back in the day. Simply couldn't tackle him with one guy.

I have to go with Eric Dickerson. The goggles, the Jheri Curl half fro, the gold Trans Am (thanks Aggies), and the guy could actually give a solid interview. And he could fucking play some football.

Unbelievable that you can't find ED highlights from his days at SMU. :gaah:

That I have seen .... I would have to say CJ Spiller. I have been going to Clemson games since '78 or '79, as a boy, right on through to now and I can't remember ever seeing a guy that I thought could take it to the house anytime he touched the ball.

What about The Fridge? That guy, as a Freshman, dominated a 3 Time All American Center in Dave Rimington. A guy who has a trophy named after him.

I was going to name him but I was about 10-12 years old when he was there. I knew there was a big fuss about him then, but I had very little football knowledge or perspective to base it on.

His brother Micheal Dean was just as dominate at Clemson as he was and so was Jeff Davis. All three would get honorable mentions from me. I could throw Brian Dawkins out there or Terry Kinard or Levon Kirkland or Chester McGlockton or Donnel Woolford. I love the defensive guys and we've had a few good ones. Yea The Fridge would be right up there for sure.

Kirkland and Kinard. Nice. Those dudes could play. A lot of tough dudes from those days for your Tigers.

No Woodrow Dantzler? He is my favorite Clemson player.

Really? I know a lot of Clemson folks loved him and he set a bunch of records when he was there, but I was never that high on the guy. What I remember most about him is he would never give a play time to develop before he would just tuck the ball and run. It used to frustrate the hell out of me.

I remember sitting through one of the worst ass cuttings I've ever witnessed while he was there. UNC came to Death Valley with Julius Peppers and they put Peppers on Dantzler as a spy and that one dude completely shut down our offense. We had no answer for it. Talk about a dominating defensive player, Peppers was one. I believe they beat us something like 35 or 38 to 3 that day.
