You may be right.

But lets do keep in mind that Cotts is 34 and Kirkman is 27. There's still time for Kirk to put it together. Besides, it never hurts to have a hard thrower in AAA and he now knows that no team in baseball wants him on their ML roster. Maybe the shock value is worth something.

Difference is that Cotts was a solid ML reliever before he had arm troubles, he didn't figure things out as much he was flat out hurt for years
