I just noticed that Angels score. After seeing Fishhead launch a 2 run homer I had not watched. Now to me losing 10-3 with your Ace on the mound is much worse.

Weaver didn't really pitch all that bad. Their bullpen collapsed

Jack Z finally bought him some offense.

Wish the Rangers would have bought a better insurance policy than Saunders or Hanson. If they had just picked up one SP that was pretty much a lock to win a few games I would feel somewhat better about where we are at

I said on the ST thread that a pitcher with prior experience should have started OD because the game has the hype of a playoff game. We put Scheppers in a bad position. It is too bad that Darvish was not available. That was a W if so. He seems to have issues with his neck for some reason.

Angels bullpen picks up where it left off the last two seasons.

Tanner had the misfortune of never having made a major league start and then getting that on opening day. That's my biggest issue with it.

Just glad Oakland and the Angels both lost. It buys us a day at least. We're just trying to stay relevant until our real pitchers get back. Today wasn't too bad all things considered. The lineup was hitting and our 2 biggest competitors lost. The last time Seattle was a contender, Mark Mclemore was on the team.

Getting a nice glimpse of that fantastic angel bullpen.

*says the rangers fan*

And Josh Johnson picks up where he left off for the Orioles. And Murphy played a part in the win against Oakland.

wtf are you smoking? I was replying to WMW with what I thought was a fair question. You took it on yourself to chime in where your bs wasn't needed. If you don't like me fine. Skip over my posts. I don't care. Frankly, I've never liked you either or the long winded boring bs you post which I generally skip over without comment.

I'm the one who chimes in where I'm not needed?! Pot meet kettle. That is literally your entire routine here. And if I cared about you reading my posts, I would stick to short mono-syllabic words in just one or two sentences so you could follow along.

You don't like me. Good for you. That just puts me in the company of many of the other knowledgeable and cool posters here who have put you on permanent ignore status. We'll all keep chatting baseball and you can go back to being a really miserable individual.

I thought he earned it over Perez in camp so I wasn't all that bent about Tanner starting. He just couldn't find his release point on breaking pitches and looked like he was trying to overthrow the fb which he coulnt command at all. He got shelled on OD, it happens sometimes. Hell a guy named Cliff Lee got shelled today too

That's a very pessimistic approach. We have injuries, but oakland's lost colon and 2 other pitchers from their rotation. We're getting guys back soon. Seattle doesn't have 2 of their pitchers and felix is throwing considerably slower (and looked extremely effectively wild today). Weaver is literally throwing in the middle 80's. We have a ton of problems, but so does everyone. And our pitching problems are gonna be pretty much over by the start of May, most probably.

Even under ideal conditions teams don't know what they are dealing with till mid June or later. It's hardly being pessimistic to hit the brakes till the team is fully healthy. Not counting 2nd base and catcher we're talking about a pitcher with a stiff neck, another coming off two surgeries and a year lay off and still another who's been out over a year and had hip surgery. Those are ifs not probabilities. However, If things fall into place this could be a really good team and not because everyone else is sucking.....which is a hell of a way to look at it.

I know this is off subject but did any of you all think the picture quality of the game on Fox was much better than in the past? My son even walked in from his college class and said something about it.

It was Jim Johnson, I believe Josh Johnson is hurt as usual in SD and good for Murph

Once we get all 7 or 8 of our injured players back you dont think this will be a better team? You said we looked like a 3rd or 4th place team. We put together a battered line up and even put moreland in there. We had a pitcher out there whose never started in the bigs. We put up 8 runs on cliff freakin lee. This team will be in contention for first at the end of the season and I have a hard time believing otherwise

Disagree. How many other pitchers have been put into that situation over a decent period of time? One. There is a reason for it.
